Satanick Donjoian Bogosian, 101, a resident of Rancho Mirage, California and a native of Granite City, Illinois passed away on November 20, 2023.
She and her husband, Harry, owned and operated HB cleaners in Lincoln Place for many years. After his death in 1961, she eventually obtained employment with Edison Brothers in St. Louis and worked in the purchasing department for 20 years prior to her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry Bogosian, her siblings: Nazareth Donjoian, Audrey Weinandy, and Violet West, her parents, Kasper and Armenouhi Donjoian.
She is survived by her three children: Aris, Shammy, and Harry, her daughter-in-law Julie (Wersh) Bogosian, her grandson, David Bogosian, and nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
A private burial ceremony will be held at Irwin Chapel in Granite City on Friday, December 15, 2023 with interment at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL, Reverend Father Voskan Hovhannisyan officiating.

Marianne Margaret Gobble (Dobbins), 87, of Caseyville, Illinois, passed away on November 18, 2023. She was born on February 6, 1936, in Mitchell, Illinois, to the late Mary and Robert Dobbins.
Marianne was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, survived by her daughter Kathleen Mayberry, sons James (Deanna) Gobble and Robert (Mary) Gobble, as well as grandchildren Daniel Gobble, Bryan (Jessica) Hawley, Breanne Mayberry, Brooke (Aaron) Mayberry-Langley, Robert Gobble Jr., and Amelia Gobble. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Nicholas Hawley, Erin Hawley, Kylie Hawley, and Noah Mayberry-Langley.
Marianne graduated from Granite City High School and later pursued her interest in nursing and graduated from the F.W. Olin Vocational School of Practical Nursing in 1982. Marianne was a dedicated nurse who cared deeply for her patients.
In her free time, Marianne enjoyed coloring, solving puzzles, and spending quality time with her family. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity.
A memorial service to celebrate Marianne’s life will be held on December 4, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm at Herr Funeral Home, located at 501 W Main St, Collinsville, IL 62234. The funeral home will be assisting with all the necessary arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marianne’s honor to the World Wildlife Foundation (worldwildlife.org). Contributions to this organization will help support Marianne’s passion for protecting wildlife and preserving our natural world.

Linda Marie Adkins, 63, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Sat. Nov. 25, 2023 at Granite Nursing and Rehab in Granite City, IL.
She was born Sept. 7, 1960 in Baltimore, MD to the late George Delmar and Barbara (Wagner) Miller.
She and Gregory Alan Hargrove were married Feb. 22, 2022 in Granite City and he preceded her in death June 26, 2023.
Linda had been a hairstylist. She loved motorcycle rides and being with friends and also enjoyed working in her yard, gardening and planting flowers. Linda also loved her dog and painting ceramics.
Survivors include 2 sons: Aaron and Eric Schwartz; step-son: Kenneth Hargrove; step-daughter: Amber Miles; 3 grandchildren: Noah, Lillie and Mae Schwartz; a brother: Ray Miller; sister: Phyllis A. Miller; and a sister-in-law: Kelly Lange.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Michael and Doug Miller.
The family will hold a celebration of Linda’s life at a later date.

Michael Anthony Leonard , 52 of Granite City, IL passed away Friday, November 24,2023.
He was born to Donna (Kraus) Norton and the late James Leonard on May 18, 1971 in Granite City, IL.
Michael loved to spend time with his friends and family and lift weights. He was a very loyal person and will be missed by many.
Michael is survived his mother: Donna (Billy) Norton; a son: Michael Leonard: 2 brothers: Jason (Sara) Leonard and Billy Ray Norton; 5 nephews; Taylor Leonard, Mason Leonard, Mason Mccallister, Eliah Lambert and Braylon Lambert; Companion: Regina Nance; and many loving cousins and friends.
Besides his father, Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Louis “Luke” and Sophia Kraus and paternal grandparents: Wallace and Mamie Lee Leonard.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm, Monday, November 27, 2023 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory.

Linda Potter, 77, Granite City passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023, with her family by her side.
Linda was the daughter of the late Vernis and Vivian Sauls. She grew up in Bethalto, IL until her sophomore year of high school when her family moved to Davenport, IA.
She graduated from West High School in 1964 and then moved back to her hometown of Bethalto.
Linda worked many years at Wood River Township Hospital as a unit clerk in the 1970’s and then went on to be the office manager for Dr. Peng nan Wang, MD in the 1980’s. She made her dream come true when she pursued her nursing degree and graduated from LCCC in 1990 as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed her years of working in local hospitals but also enjoyed cruising and teaching.

Linda started with Holland America Cruise Lines as a Medical Officer/RN from 1996-2009. She traveled to 6 of the 7 continents. She never met a stranger and left with a friend wherever she went. Linda also taught from 1999-2007 at North County Tech in St. Louis, where she taught and mentored high school students in the medical field to become proficient as CNA’s.
Linda was Mother Advisor for many years from the mid-1980’s until the late 1990’s for the Bethalto Assembly Rainbow Girls and she was a past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Bethalto. She touched many lives and lived her life to the fullest. Linda was the one person everyone would call, and she would be there for them no matter what time of day it was. She loved making memories with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and enjoying time with friends. She always had a smile and a kind word.
Other than her parents, Linda was predeceased by her husband, Earl Potter, and a brother, Charles Sauls.
Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly (Dave) Brown of Granite City; grandson, Riley Brown and granddaughter, Kassidy Brown both of Granite City. Linda and Earl were married for 27 years that created a beautiful, blended family of daughters, Debbie McDonald of Roxana, Portia (Richard) Gordon of Moro, Crystal Potter of St. Louis, Lisa Wojciechowski of Mount Dora, FL; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sisters Vicki (Gary) Cole of Blue Grass, IA, and Penny Alpen of Durant, IA; she will also be dearly missed by her beloved yorkies, Harry and Beatrix Potter and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm, Monday, November 27 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River where the funeral service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday. Pastor Mark Maynard will officiate.
Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Deborah Fay Annen, 66, of Granite City, IL passed away Wedneday,November 22, 2023 in her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born to the late Charles Rayn Jr and Rosella (Todd) Ryan on March 27, 1957 in Jefferson City, MO. Debbie attended Nevada Highschool in Missouri.
She met James Annen and they were married on February 11, 2006. Debbie and James owned a Flea Market called Deb’s Corner.
She loved to collect jewelry and dolls. Her hobbies included shopping and diamond art painting but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Debbie was a mother hen to her siblings. She loved to joke around and make everyone smile. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, James Annen; 3 daughters: Jenn Annen. Lynne Dentone, Dianne Estock- Annen ; a son: Adrien Estock-Annen; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Gene (Stacy) Bond, Rex Ryan; 5 sisters: Diane Kirchner, Patty (Chuck) Ryan, Barbie (Dave D’eagle) Hile, Therisa (Roger) Moreno, Brenda (Joel) Ryan; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by a brother; Charles D. Ryan.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital .
Visitation will be from 10:00 am Sunday, November 26, 2023 until the time of service at 12:00 pm at Wojstrom Funeral Home and Crematory.

Lucille A. Schannot, née Warren, 94, of Granite City, Illinois, born October12, 1929, in Gillespie, Illinois, passed away, November 20, 2023, in Glen Carbon, Illinois
Lucille was a proud member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Granite City, Illinois and volunteered her time with the Ladies Auxiliary.
She was excellent with math and numbers, working as the bookkeeper for her late husband, Herbert, at H.R. Schannot, Jr. Painting Company. She loved to travel with her husband, and they enjoyed many cruises and trips together.
She also liked taking trips down to Tunica, Mississippi, where she would test her luck on the slot machines. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially playing card games like Pinochle and Rummy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Richard Schannot, Jr.; her parents, Dillard “Oscar” and Annie Mae, née Jones, Warren; her siblings, Oscar, Jessie, Marie, Dorothy, Betty, Ruthie, Edna, and Cassie; and a son-in-law, Raymond McClintock.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda McClintock, of O’Fallon, Missouri, Herbert “Richard” (Darlene) Schannot, III, of Godfrey, Illinois, Harold F. (Cynthia) Schannot, of Granite City, Illinois, and Donald W. James E. Hileman, 47 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
James was born on October 2, 1976 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City. James was a union carpenter out of St. Louis and in his free time could often be found at Tri City Speedway racing stock cars.
James was a well known outdoorsman who enjoyed his days of hunting and fishing or watching hockey, football and baseball.
James loved all types of music and was always ready for spending time with his family and friends. James will be remembered for his heart of gold who had a great personality and a joke for just about everyone and all the special times he shared with his family.

Alexis Saul Espinal, 52, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away November 11, 2023, in Granite City, Illinois; he was born July 8, 1971 to his mother, Inocente Deicarme Espinal and his late father, Lorenzo Santos.

Claudette Arlene Hlava, nee Ganswind, 89, formerly, of Madison, Illinois, born November 29, 1933, in Centralia, Illinois, passed away, November 15, 2023, in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
Claudette was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Missouri. She dedicated much of her time to community outreach, including volunteering with the USO at Lambert International Airport and the V.P. Fair in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hlava; her parents, Walter and Maxine, neé Lee, Ganswind; and a brother, Robert “Bud” Ganswind.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her two sons, Dwain (Sheila) Baldridge, of Arnold, Missouri and Rev. David (Sarah) Baldridge, of Owensville, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Jacob Baldridge, Whitney (Travis) Heaton, Ben (Joanna) Baldridge, Jenny (Jason) Knott, and Andy Baldridge; her sisters, Chris Hoppes, of Collinsville, Illinois and Donna (Mike) Oakes, of Webster Groves, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Catherine E. Pace, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4th, at Gateway Regional Hospital, returning to the arms of our Lord.
Catherine was one of 11 siblings born to John Janco, Sr. and Eva nee Gallo on March 13th, 1933. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Pace and daughter Kathleen Sedabres.
She is survived by her sister Eve Welch, brother Steve Janco, niece Debi Janco Harris as well as many extended family members and friends, and special friend Robin Janco.
She was an amazing seamstress, cook and rock to all that loved her. She was full of sage advice and wisdom when asked. She was a very loving and giving person to all. Most importantly to her cats and the cats in the neighborhood.
Services were held Saturday, November 18th in Salem, MO. Catherine was laid to rest in the Pace/Warden cemetery, located in Salem, Mo.

Virginia Humphrey
November 24, 1947 – November 14, 2023
Granite City, Illinois – Virginia Lee Humphrey “Ginny,” nee Mensing, born November 24, 1947 in Belleville, IL, passed away on November 14, 2023 at her home in Granite City, IL.
Ginny grew up in Shiloh, IL, and spent much of her youth visiting her beloved grandparents, Ralph and Mabel, on the Lienesch family farm.
Ginny attended nursing school in Belleville. She was an avid world traveler, including trips to Ireland, Greece, Egypt, Hungary, Italy, and of course, to all 50 US states. Ginny enjoyed her monthly lunches with her Belleville West High School alumni friends and was part of a Yahtzee Club for years. She spent a lot of time at the Belleville East Branch YMCA, and enjoyed baking with her granddaughters, and spending time at the family’s lake house at Lake of the Ozarks. Ginny was a loving mother, and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and valued her strong family heritage.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Betty, nee Lienesch, Mensing; her brother Kenneth Mensing; grandchildren Michael and Kirsten; and sister-in-law Cheryl Mensing.
She is survived by husband John Humphrey of Collinsville; children Kristina (Dack) Ledbetter of Maryville, John (Linda Goddard) Humphrey, Jr, of Derby, Kan., Leigh Ann Zupan of Bethalto, and Shauna (Christopher) Modrusic of Pontoon Beach; grandchildren Brittany, Ryan, Lauren, Brent, Kyndra, Krystal, Rachel, Kaylie, Bryce, Kelbie, Emily, Taylor, and McKenna; great-grandchildren Brynlee, Aubree, and Westin; sister Yvonne (Bill) Hurckes, brother James Mensing, and sister-in-law Hoa Mensing.

Gary Dale Dugan, Sr, 69, of Granite City, IL died on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born on July 16, 1954 in Granite City, IL to Clarence and Evelyn (Sorenson) Dugan.
Gary married Karla Pruitt and she preceded him in death in 1996.
The loving father and grandfather worked as a carpenter and also as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and especially fishing.
Gary is survived by 2 daughters: Tabitha Dudley of Potosi, MO and Carrie Halloway of Williamsville, MO; 2 sons: Gary Dugan, Jr of Granite City and Terry Bradford of Marble Hill, MO; 11 grandchildren: Dallas, Katie, Mason, Gage, Maryann, Maria, Daniel, Braelynn, Nicholas, Mataya and Saffle; a great grandchild, Irys; 3 brothers: Billy Dugan of Collinsville, IL, Robert “Bob” Dugan of Tilden, IL and Danny Dugan, Sr of Granite City and a sister, Judy Dugan of Granite City..

William Charles “Chuck” King, 79, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 6:24 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 28, 1944, in LaHarp, Illinois, a son of the late George and Evelyn (Carnes) King.
He married JoAnn (Whitaker) King on February 4, 1995, at St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City and she survives.
Chuck had worked at Lutz Hardware Store in Nauvoo, Illinois with many years of service as a heating technician and as a general clerk.
He also enjoyed painting and sandblasting for over 20 years until his retirement. Following his retirement, he continued a lifelong passion of restoring cars, enjoyed working with crafts and attending craft shows and volunteering with TWIGS. He was a faithful member of St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City where he was active with the Brotherhood.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by three sons, Brian (Teresa) King of Fulton, Missouri, Brad King of Imperial, Missouri and Brent King of Columbia, Missouri; three stepchildren, Denise (Dave) Lofink of Granite City, Michael (Gena) Kalert of Bethalto and David (Scott Eberhart) Kalert of Glen Carbon; grandchildren, Briana King, Rachel King, Evelyn King, Cyd King, Steven Kalert, Melissa Sullivan, Maerhanda Rolens and Jacob Kalert; great grandchildren, Charli, Blake, Destiny, Joseph, Aubrey and Paige; two brothers, Ronald (Kay) King of Wisconsin and Robert “Bob” (Rita) King of Farris, Illinois; sister, Sidney Brown of Ft. Teresa Annette Gagliardo, 65, of Collinsville, IL died on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
She was born on February 24, 1958 in St. Louis, MO to Edward and Hazel (Utley) Rushing.
Teresa married Robert Gagliardo in Granite City, IL on September 21, 2001.
Teresa was known as the “golden grandma” because she enjoyed babysitting all her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, Teresa is survived by a daughter, Jamie (Benjamin) Schobert of Mt. Olive, IL; 2 sons: Joe (Gina) Topal of Collinsville, IL and Ricky (Sabrina) Rushing of Granite City, IL; 5 grandchildren: Vanessa, Destiny, Hayden, Logan and Peyton; 2 great grandchildren: Octavia and Journey; 2 brothers: Scott (Jane) Rushing of IN and Eddie Rushing of Granite City and a sister, Sandy (Jerry) Duncan of Granite City.

Gerald J. Jerry Roderick, 81, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 7:39 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at his home with his beloved wife and family by his side.
Jerry leaves a legacy of his family, proud community involvement and a Granite City tradition of great food and loyal service to people throughout his life.
He was born July 8, 1942, in Granite City, a son of the late Oliver B. and Theresa E. (Juliette) Roderick.
He married the love of his life, Coleen K. (Weston) Roderick on May 15, 1965, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City and she survives.
He retired in December 2017, as the owner and operator of Jerry’s Cafeteria and Catering in Granite City, leaving a son and family to continue his legacy. Jerry loved baking, cooking, being with his family and entertaining others. He had a love for sports and enjoyed his days of playing golf, participating in local hockey and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Blues. In 2021, he was proudly inducted into the Granite City High School Sports Hall of Fame.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Jon and Michelle Roderick of Pontoon Beach, Jenna and Michael DeYong of Granite City, Joel and Sarah Roderick of Lincolnton, North Carolina and Amanda and Matthew Lour of Granite City; twelve grandchildren and spouses, Shelby and Jordan Martin, Jacob Roderick, Addison Roderick, Cole and Randi DeYong, Alec and Emma DeYong, Eerina Roderick, Matthew Roderick, Shepard Roderick, Ahnna Roderick, Weston Roderick, Amelia “Millie” Lour and Adam Lour; a great grandson, Chase DeYong; a great grandchild on the way; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Mike Ivie of Granite City; his cherished beagles, Truman and Bess; several nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Steven Ray Wimbish Sr., 58, of Pontoon Beach, IL, passed away Mon. Nov. 13, 2023 at his home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1965 in Riverside, CA to the late Trudy Williams and Marine Wimbish.
Steve loved being outdoors and loved riding motorcycles. He had been employed as a locomotive mechanic.
He and Victoria “Vicki” L. Schaefer were married Sept. 30, 2011 in Edwardsville, IL. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Steven Ray (Tabby) Wimbish Jr., IL; a step-son: Aaron Martin; 3 grandchildren: Riley Boone, Lucas Boone and Seth Martin; a brother: Doug(Betty) Wimbish all of Granite City; and 2 sisters: Sandy (Stephen) Hayden of Cottage Hills, IL and Vicki (Chuck) Hughes of TN.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Krystal L. Wimbish; and a sister: Cindy Pulley.

Michael Wayne Scannell, 62, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 11:50 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town and Country, Missouri.
He was born January 17, 1961, in East St. Louis, Illinois, a son of Wayne Michael and Jeanette (Lubak) Scannell of Granite City.
Michael married the love of his life, Susie L. (Edwards) Scannell on October 19, 1985, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City and she survives.
He retired in August 2023, from Evoqua Water Technologies in Granite City after over 30 years of dedicated service as a service technician. He also owned and operated Recoil Armory and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
He was a talented musician throughout his life and enjoyed playing the drums in The Casuals Band with his dad, son and nephew. He was a dedicated member and President of the Metro East Musicians Union, AFM, Local 29-717. He enjoyed being a hockey coach with the Granite City Steelers and Warriors for several years. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis and a longtime member of St. Mary & St. Margaret Catholic Church and also Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved being at his lake property, Uncle Walt’s Place, in Farmington, Missouri and enjoyed his days of his razor riding, camping, hunting and fishing. Michael never met a stranger, remembered by all who knew him, cherished special times with his family and truly adored his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife of 38 years, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Annie Scannell of Troy and Patrick and Taylor Scannell of Maryville; four grandchildren, Mikey, Leo, Carlee and Jameson; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Jim Kopsic of Granite City, Lisa and Brian Blackwell of Granite City, Juli and Alec Nemeth of Glen Carbon and Susan and Carl Keef of Granite City; mother-in-law, Arlene Edwards of Granite City; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Cindy Edwards of Florida and Julie and Jeff Daugherty of Staunton; nieces; nephews; other extended family and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo and Alvina Scannell and Steve and Helen Lubak; father-in-law, Russell Edwards and a brother-in-law, Russell Edwards.

Eric Jon Archer, 75, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at his home on Saturday, November 11, 2023 with his family at his side. He was born April 3, 1948, in Charlotte, Michigan, a son of the late Kenneth and Barbara (Meeder) Archer.
He married the love of his life, Sue Ann Marie “Sue” (Reaka) on August 3, 1968, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City and she survives.
Eric was a member of the Bricklayers Local #65 with 18 years of dedicated service at Granite City Steel until his medical retirement. He enjoyed working in construction and helped to build many homes. He also enjoyed woodworking, riding four wheelers and working on tractors with his friends.
He loved spending time at his cabin in Centerville, Missouri. He was an avid fan of Harley Davidson and enjoyed his many rides. He had a special talent of making electric guitars and cigar box guitars and was also a member of the N.R.A. and formerly with the F-Troop Motorcycle group.
In addition to his beloved wife of over 55 years, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cory and Philip Karius of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Paige Karius and Sydney Karius, both of St. Louis; four siblings, Kristin Nicholson, Keri Gae Archer, Kyle and Paula Archer and Kayla McAmish; brother-in-law, Terry Rollins, all of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Hal F. Painter, 89, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:38 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Shiloh, Illinois.
He was born March 5, 1934, in Collinsville, Illinois, the son of the late Hale F. and Frances (Zukas) Painter Sr.
He married the love of his life, Barbara June (McCullough) Painter in 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City and she passed away on January 17, 2007.
Hal retired in 1999 from Granite City Steel after 42 years of dedicated service as a steelworker. He was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City. He was a very devout Catholic and loved his religion, history and his I-pad.
He also enjoyed riding his stationary bike and liked to tell people that he rode enough miles to circle the equator twice. He cherished his family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Michael Painter and Julie Repp of Collinsville; four grandchildren, Sarah Axe and Mark Axe, Kathryn Painter and Tommy Gabauer, Alison Keough and Ben Keough and Haley Black; a great granddaughter, Emily; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Evelyn Digmann, August 5, 1929 – November 10, 2023. Evelyn was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 5, 1929.
She passed away on November 10, 2023. A resident of Granite City, Illinois since May 1951. She was an R.N. with a BSN from S.I.U.E. and certified in psychiatric and mental health nursing.
She also worked at St. Elizabeth hospital and the Granite City Steel dispensary. She was a graduate of St. Louis City hospital and relief night supervisor there.
The last 11 years of her 40 years in nursing, she was a head nurse at Malcolm Bliss Mental Health Institute.
She was a member of the St. Louis Metro Polka Club and the Springfield Polka Lovers of America, S.I.U.E. alumni, Family Hospice, Senior Circle Gateway Regional hospital auxiliary and a volunteer there too.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years in November 2004, a son John Pomeroy in April 1981, her parents Anna (Muth) and John Hiefer, and three sisters Janet, Gertrude, and Eleanor.
Evelyn is survived by two sons Jim Pomeroy and Andrew Myint, one daughter Margaret Charter, seven grandchildren Amy Gantvoort, Carrie Berg, Kathy Charter, Chris Charter, Jeff Pomeroy, Jeremy Pomeroy, and Jennifer Edwards. Along with seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
A private service will be held for family and close friends at Sunset Memorial Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Shirley Jean Yates, 94, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away, November 9, 2023, in Granite City, she was born December 9, 1928, in Granite City, Illinois, to the late, Leon and Teresa, née Jones, Costley.
Shirley worked as a bookkeeper for Processors Industrial Community Credit Union for 35 years. She was a faithful member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Granite City and served as an Elder and a deacon.
She was a member of Church Women United and Seafarers of First Presbyterian.
She dedicated her time to the VFW Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, volunteered at Gateway Regional Medical Center, as a past president of the Auxiliary. Shirley enjoyed camping, raised grain, hay and cattle on the family’s 18-acre farm and loved horses. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Yates; her daughter, Sandra Agles; a daughter-in-law, Julianne Yates; and her siblings, Leon Costley, Jr., and Mary Ann Costello

Alyce Lynn Weaver, 70 of Glen Carbon, Illinois and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Glen Carbon.
Alyce was born on April 26, 1953 in Granite City; the daughter of the late Hollis W. “Poppy” and Mary Theresa (Ybarra) Donaldson. Alice was a loving mom and grandma who loved to take care of her family, always putting the needs of her family above her own. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a former member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City. She was a well known crafter who was talented in crocheting and in plastic canvas. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.

We are sad to announce the passing of Herman H. Miller III, 68 of Granite City on November 2, 2023. He was at home surrounded by his family.
Herman worked for Riverway Harbor Service for 19 years. He then worked for Miller Trash Service, the family owned business for many years.
He loved restoring old cars, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Herman is survived by his wife of 47 years Michelle L. Cameron Austin McCrary, 42, of Granite City, IL died on Monday, November 6, 2023 at his home.
He was born on October 8, 1981 in West Palm Beach, FL to Cameron Glenn McCrary and Blanche Annette (Vest) Durrance.
Cameron married Amy Proffitt in Granite City, IL on December 21, 2020.
Cameron was a watch collector and a fanatic about the movie Nightmare Before Christmas.
Besides his wife and father, Cameron is survived by a son Austin McCrary of NY; a half-brother, Taylor Durrance of NY; a half-sister, Kaylee Durrance; father in law, Steven Proffitt of Huntington, IN and a brother in law, Scott Proffitt of Huntington, IN.

Alice J. Sutton, 80, of Granite City, Illinois passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023 at her residence.
She was born to Frank and Arline (Shepard) Noah on July 11, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. She married Robert Sutton on June 2, 1962.
They enjoyed many years together before his passing in 2022.
Alice was a dedicated homemaker who was a beloved wife and loving mother. In later years, she was a devoted grandmother who truly enjoyed time with her family. She also enjoyed playing games, shopping, and traveling. She was a talented decorator, with a keen eye for detail, and delighted in hosting theme parties.
Those left to cherish Alice’s memory are her son Scott Sutton and his girlfriend Jennifer Anderson, daughter Dana Dake and her husband Mike Dake. She was a proud grandmother to Stephanie Townsend, Nicole (Bryan) Towery, Sean Sutton, Courtney (Ryan) Roberts, a proud great-grandmother to Vera, Hailey, Bryan, Jameson, Autumn, and Dean, her siblings Arline Clark, Florence Tipler, Nina Noah, and Judy Noah, along with many more extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Allen Noah and her husband, Robert Sutton. Alice will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Salvador “Chavo” M. Luna, Sr, 63, of Granite City, IL died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday November 6, 2023.
He was born on October 10, 1960 in El-Llano Mich. Mexico to Miguel Luna and Salud (Lara) Luna.
Salvador married Charlene Brodeur in Granite City, IL on February 14, 2018.
The loving husband, father and grandfather was a DJ at Doit’s Village Inn in Pontoon Beach and was also the house DJ at Don Chencho’s Mexican Restaurant.
Salvador had a passion for music and played with his father and brothers in the Luna Orchestra. He was a very loved karaoke king by many. Salvador enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Salvador is survived by his wife; 5 daughters: Marisela, Cierra, Martika, Selena and Savanah; 2 sons: Derek and Salvador Jr; 11 grandchildren: Nalanie, Rosie, Alexa, Wyatt, Owen, Reina, Vincent, Natalia, Esma, Sebstian and Ignacio.
Also surviving are a brother, Gerardo Luna; 4 sisters: Rosa Medina, Olivia Salanik, Bertha Pedroni and Maria S. Moreno and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family.
Salvador is preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Miguel Luna, Ernesto Luna and Alberto Luna.

Tommy Ho Cheung, 78, of Madison, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at his home.
He was born October 2, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Ho and Sneove (Brown) Cheung.
He married Linda J. (Lindsey) Cheung on November 23, 1968, in St. Louis and she passed away on April 17, 2008.
The United States Navy veteran proudly served his country on the USS Magoffin during the Vietnam War. He began a career with Terminal Railroad Association in 1966 and retired in 2006 as a yardmaster.
He then worked as a cook for over 15 years at Scott Air Force Base until his retirement. Tommy enjoyed playing bingo and loved his trips to the casino.
He is survived by a daughter, Leanette Pryor of Loganville, Georgia; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Shawna Cheung of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; two granddaughters, Sarrah Cheung and Kelsey Mueller; two great granddaughters, Heaven Cheung and Olivia Cheung; three brothers, Richard Cheung, Johnny Cheung and William Cheung; several nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Smitt and two brothers, Sammy Cheung and Dewey “Lee” Cheung.

Clarence E. Gibson Jr., 78, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 12:17 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at his home.
He was born July 20, 1945, in Venice, Illinois, a son of the late Clarence E. and Alice (Rhodes) Gibson Sr.
The United States Army veteran proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Clarence had worked as a crane operator at Spectrulite in Venice and had owned and operated Gibson Auto Repair. He enjoyed racing cars, was a good mechanic and tow truck operator. He also enjoyed his days of bowling, hunting and watching movies with his family.
He is survived by five children, Richard (Sondra) Gibson, Michelle (Joe) Needham, Chad Gibson, Jessica Gibson and Cassandra (Anthony) Polach, all of Granite City; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his former wife and mother of his children, Faye Gibson of Granite City; two brothers, Richard (Brenda) Gibson and Leroy (Laura) Gibson; a sister, Faye Flaugher, all of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Mary was born on March 5, 1935 in North Venice, Illinois; the daughter of the late William T. and Ethel (Culwell) Christopher. Mary had earned Licensed Practical Nursing Degree and had worked for Colonnades Nursing Home in Granite City for 15 years.
Mary was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Granite City where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school.
In her free time Mary enjoyed her days of spending time with her family and will be remembered for being a strong and wise woman who will now rest in the peace of her savior.
Mary is survived by and will be missed by her children: Michael and Donna Hooper of Troy, IL, Matthew Hooper of Granite City, IL, Shannon and Frank Stempfle of Imperial, MO; grandchildren, Mandy Hooper of Arizona, Nikolas Hooper of Granite City, IL, Spencer and Gary Johnson of Imperial, MO, Seth Stempfle of Imperial, MO; great-grandchildren, Owen Johnson, Viveyn Johnson, Octavia Johnson and many other close family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Mary’s life, funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Blankley officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Molly Kathleen Ferguson, 24, of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, born April 26, 1999, in Maryville, Illinois, passed away, November 1, 2023, at home.
Molly enjoyed being outdoors; especially, swimming, hiking, and camping. Growing up she loved horses and dogs. Molly lit up every room she entered with her personality and smile. She was considered by all who knew her to be the sunshine to their day. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Ann Rieser, nee Dryden, and her paternal grandparents, Donald Ferguson and Delores Phegley.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her father, Jason Lee Ferguson, of Pontoon Beach, Illinois; her step father, Joseph L. Rieser, of Pontoon Beach, Illinois; her maternal grandparents, Larry and Sharla Dryden, of Pontoon Beach, Illinois; her siblings, Haley (Ryan) Rapp, Kayla (Alex Davis) Ferguson, and Kailey Ochoa; her aunts and uncles, Jennifer Dryden, Jerry Dryden, and many more; her nephews and niece, Elijah, Atlas, Kyler, Ezekial, and Kennedy; several cousins, Hannah Dryden, Kyle (Katy) Dryden, Shyan Ferguson, and many more; and many other relatives and friends.
