Bill “B.J.” Joe Beaman, age 78, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois, surrounded by those who loved him. He was born on December 20, 1947, in Corning, Arkansas, a beloved son of the late Jeff and Oma (Sorrels) Beaman.

On January 27, 1995, B.J. married the love of his life, Carol (Scott) Knight, in Edwardsville, Illinois. Their marriage of thirty years was built on devotion, partnership, and deep affection.

For over four decades, B.J. proudly owned and operated Beaman Construction Company, earning a reputation as a master craftsman with unmatched skill and integrity. There was little he couldn’t build, fix, or improve, and he took immense pride in his work. His attention to detail and strong work ethic were hallmarks of both his career and his character.

B.J. found peace and happiness outdoors. He loved fishing, deer hunting, and simply being surrounded by nature. A true perfectionist, he took special pride in his meticulously kept lawn, often spending hours on his beloved John Deere lawn tractor—one of his favorite pastimes.

Above all else, family was B.J.’s greatest joy. He cherished time spent with his loved ones and was happiest when surrounded by them. He also had a special place in his heart for his Shih Tzu, Piper, affectionately known as Princess Piper by his family, whom he spoiled endlessly and adored completely.

B.J. will be remembered as a hardworking, kindhearted family man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand—whether to a neighbor, a friend, or even a stranger. His generosity, quiet strength, and genuine nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

In addition to his parents, B.J. was preceded in death by five siblings.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Beaman of Granite City, Illinois; his loving daughter, Shazet Fisk of Flint, Michigan; cherished stepchildren, Mike (Kenbra) Knight of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, Chad (Dawn) Knight of Granite City, Illinois, and Kelli Chastain of Granite City, Illinois; siblings Jessie Beaman and Mary Diaz of Rockford, Illinois; as well as many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Honoring B.J.’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded, and no formal services will be held.

Robert Joseph Haney, 80, of Granite City, IL, passed away Tues. Dec. 30, 2025 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born Mar. 18, 1945 in State Park Place, IL to the late James Theodore and Frances Margaret (Zitta) Haney.

Bob married Charlotte Anne Lipe July 31, 1965 at State Park Assembly of God.  She preceded him in death June 22, 2012.  He then married JoAnn (Strasen) Flath Oct. 24, 2020 at Calvary Life Church in Granite City.  She survives.

Bob had been a professional painter with Local #58 until his retirement.  He was a member of Calvary Life Church. He loved attending Tuesday night Bible Study Group, gospel singing events and visiting with friends and family.

In addition to his wife, JoAnn, he is survived by 2 daughters, Darla (Tony) Thomas of Pleasant Plains, AR, and Dana (Demetrius) Townes of Charlotte, NC, a son, Jeffrey (Victoria) Haney of Granite City, 2 step-daughters, Sharla (Robert) Grossman of CO, and Amy (Stephen) Baker of Vienna, IL, 16 grandchildren, Tyler (Ashlee) Thomas, Hannah Thomas, Cassia Thomas, Levi Thomas, Xavian Haney, Thomas Haney, Julianna Haney, Judah Townes, Zander Townes, Brecklyn Garza, Robyn Grossman, Ben Grossman, Shayna Grossman, Dayna Grossman, Samuel Eldridge, and Alexander Baker, 3 great-grandchildren, Azariah, Bella, and Quino, a brother, Jerald (Marie) Haney of Highland, IL, and a sister, Ruthie Daniels of TX.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte, his parents, a daughter, Dina Lynn Haney, a brother, Jimmy, and a sister, Joyce.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Sun. Jan. 4, 2026 at Calvary Life Church, 4650 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL 62040 and will continue Mon. Carol Ann Davis, 87, of Granite City, IL, passed away Mon. Dec. 29, 2025 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

She was born Aug. 16, 1938 in Granite City to the late David R. and Mary Jane (Hardin) Davis.

Carol married Loren Davis Feb. 24, 1962.  He preceded her in death Jul. 20, 2018.

Carol started her working career as a flight attendant for TWA out of Kansas City and had flown on The Constellation.   She also worked various secretarial positions over the years.  She and Loren owned and operated Davis Funeral Home in Granite City for many years until Loren’s passing and the closure of the funeral home.  They were both longtime members of First Presbyterian Church in Granite City.

She is survived by her daughter, Megan J. (Jim) Travis of Bridgeton, MO, 2 grandchildren, Hannah J. (Brendan) Hawse, and Evan J. Travis, and her brother, William D. Davis of Washington, MO.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David L. Davis.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Tues. Jan. 6, 2026 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Mark Maynard officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.

Darrell Lee Conway Jr., 66, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 6:21 a.m. Mon. Dec. 29, 2025 at his home.

He was born Aug. 15, 1959 in St. Louis, MO to the late Darrell and Helen (Seibold) Conway Sr.

Darrell had worked in box manufacturing.  He was a natural handyman and loved to work on old cars.  He also loved music and was a drummer.

He is survived by 4 children, Kristy (Jon) Burns, Timothy Conway, Daniel (Taylor) Conway all of Granite City, and Lillie Miller of MO.  Darrell is also survived by several grandchildren, a brother, Tom Conway of Florissant, MO, and a sister, Darlene Unger of St. Charles, MO.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kristina Conway, a son, John Conway, and a sister, Patsy Moriarty.

Clinton “Wayne” Thompson, age 80, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife. Wayne was born on September 30, 1945, in Granite City, a beloved son of the late Ben and Violet Alice (Tucker) Thompson.

Wayne proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life marked by extraordinary courage and sacrifice. In recognition of his valor, he was awarded two Purple Hearts and the Navy Cross, honors that reflected his unwavering dedication and bravery in service to others. His commitment to faith was equally strong, as he was a faithful and active member of Covenant Worship Center in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

An avid outdoorsman, Wayne felt most at peace in nature. He had a special talent for cutting down trees, always knowing precisely where they would fall—a skill that reflected both his confidence and deep understanding of the world around him. Above all else, Wayne cherished his family. Time spent with those he loved brought him his greatest joy, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry, Carl, Donald, and Wesley Thompson, and by his two sons.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lois Thompson, of Granite City, Illinois; his dear sister, Carmen Williams; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, Illinois, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Pastors Dave Harrelson and Lonnie Buatte will officiate. Wayne will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Illinois, with full military honors conducted by the United States Marines and the Collinsville V.F.W.

Paul Elliott Craig, age 60, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Gateway Regional Medical Center, surrounded by love. Paul was born on August 13, 1965, in East St. Louis, Illinois, a beloved son of the late Elliott Craig and Eula (Hale) Hackethal.

On September 12, 2009, Paul married the love of his life, Leslie Smithson, in Sullivan, Missouri. Their marriage was built on devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership, and together they created a home filled with love and family.

Paul spent many years working at Mick’s Garage in Granite City, where his skill, ingenuity, and strong work ethic were well known.

A true jack of all trades, Paul could fix, build, repair, or tear down just about anything he set his mind to. If it was broken, Paul could make it right.

An outdoorsman at heart, Paul found peace in nature—whether hunting, working with his hands, or simply enjoying the fresh air. He was also an exceptional cook and a proud grill master, known for meals that brought family and friends together. Paul never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand—often reminding those who knew him that he was “just a phone call away.”

Above all else, family was Paul’s greatest joy. He loved his family deeply, and nothing brought him more pride than being a Papaw to his nine grandchildren—the true light of his life. His kindness, generosity, and steady presence will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife of sixteen years, Leslie Craig of Granite City, Illinois; his loving children Adam (Kyrsten) Stockman of Granite City, Josh (Catherine) Craig of Edwardsville, Terry (Isabel) Stockman of Granite City, and Chelsea (Brandon Smith) Crites of Pontoon Beach; and his cherished grandchildren Gabriella, Aaleyah, Emery Rae, James, Everett, Lily, Sylas, Violet, and Scarlet. He is also survived by extended family members and many dear friends.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held with visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, Illinois. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Father Tom Smithson officiating.

Edward Alex Oates, Jr, 72, of Granite City, IL passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at his home.

He was born on July 17, 1953 in Taylorville, IL to Edward Alex Oates, Sr and Rose Marie (nee:  Griffin) Cooper.

Edward married Magdalene Levy in Granite City, IL on September 27, 1997.

The U.S. Army veteran was an Army Ranger with the 10th Mountain Division.  After his military service, Edward worked for the U.S. Postal Service.  He was a member of the American Legion who enjoyed painting, golfing and fishing. 

Edward was very passionate about music and his dog, Theo. He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues with his grandsons and watching his son playing soccer and basketball.

Edward is survived by his wife; 2 daughters:  Jennifer Oates-Lignoul of Granite City and Jessica (Gabriel) Karabell of St. Louis; a son, Colin Oates of Granite City; 3 grandchildren:  Jacob Lignoul, Josh Lignoul and Esther Anna Karabell; a great granddaughter, Olive Lignoul; an uncle and aunt, Mike & Jan Griffin and other extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, Edward is preceded in death by a sister, Vicky Oates and a grandson, Joseph Schoolfield..

An inurnment will be held at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

William “Bill” R. Hagen Sr. 74, of Granite City passed away December 23, 2025 at his home.  He was born March 8, 1951 in Granite City to John D. Hagen Sr. and Virginia “Ruby” (Powers) Hagen.

 Bill married Corine (Armes) Harris September 26, 2024.  In his free time he enjoyed playing pool and in pool leagues, fishing, hunting, camping and the outdoors.  

He was a member of the Teamsters Local 600 and the American Legion.  He was a fan of NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals.

He is survived by his wife, Corine Harris; daughters, Shawnette (Todd) Smith and Billie Liley; brother, John (Mary) Hagen Jr and sister, Jenny (Wade) Hannah; grandchildren, Darian and Adrian Liley, Mason, Camdin, Karson, Conner, Bentley and Arianne Hagen; great grandchildren, Nash and Blakelyn Hagen and stepchildren, Nicole Gebhardt, Lindsey Armes and Jason Armes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William “Bill” Hagen Jr. and siblings, Joyce Pursell, Ruth Hagen, Maryann Murphy, Harleen Gibson and Halley “Teddy” Reed.

Granite City, Illinois – Carlea S. Drury, a woman of indomitable spirit and vibrant passion, passed away comfortably in her home on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Carlea will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, culinary passions, and remarkable tenaciousness. She truly loved life’s flavors, finding immense joy in cooking, grilling, and exploring exotic foods. 

Her greatest happiness came from traveling and exploring new places, making lasting memories, and sharing delicious meals with those she loved, ultimately living a life full of exploration and taste.

Carlea was preceded in death by her dad, James Green; father Carl Leggans; and her brothers, Alan Green and Jimmy Ray Green.

She is survived and dearly missed by her loving daughter, Claire Drury; and her beloved dog, Ralphie. She is also survived by her devoted mother, Catherine Green; and her sister, Dana (Anthony) Turnbough. Carlea leaves behind nieces Ashley Burgoon and Jessicca (Alan) Watson, along with great-niece and great-nephews, Lucas, Carter, Ruby, Austin, and Carl Wayne.

David Rodney Clements, 86, of Granite City, IL died on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at his home.

He was born on December 21, 1939 in Cumberland City, TN to Hester and Christine (nee:  Adams) Clements.

David married Margot Grebe in Granite City, IL on November 25, 1965.

The U.S. Army veteran retired from U.S. Auto Glass after 40 years of service.  He was a member of AMVETS Post 51 in Granite City.  David enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening. He was a Tennessee boy who enjoyed the outdoors.

David is survived by his wife; 2 daughters:  Angie Clements of Granite City and Priscilla Clements of Granite City; 4 grandchildren:  Christina, James, Sarena and Jacob and 3 great grandchildren:  Summer, Miles and Theodore.

Besides his parents, David is preceded in death by 3 brothers:  James Clements, Leo Clements and Jackie Clements and a sister, Shirley Clements.

Sue Ellen Jones, 57, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 10:23 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born January 6, 1968, in Granite City, Illinois.

Sue was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed listening to music, working with crafts and watching wrestling. She cherished her many cats that she cared for throughout the years and will be remembered for the love and special times she shared with her family.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Sue (Jones) Brewer of Granite City; a son, James Michael Jones of St. Louis; a brother, Bryan Eugene Cann of Mitchell; other extended family and friends.

Jason Wayne Sitzes, 51, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 9:33 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.

Born March 19, 1974, in Granite City, Illinois. Jason married Andrea Beth (Connolly) Sitzes on June 12, 2021, in Granite City, Illinois. They shared 13 years of wonderful memories together.

Jason dedicated his life to serving others. He was currently employed as a telecommunicator with the Granite City Police Department, where he had served for two years and previously for the Madison Police Department. He had proudly worked as a paramedic for 12 years with MedStar Ambulance and for several years with Abbott EMS. He was also a retired firefighter with the Long Lake Fire Department, giving more than 20 years of dedicated service.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City and always had his family as the center of his life. He was a loving husband, devoted dad and proud papa who enjoyed many special times throughout the years. He loved coaching softball and teaching many girls the skills in playing ball. He also enjoyed his days of traveling, fishing, hunting, listening to his 80’s genre of music and always ready for good times with family and friends.

In addition to his cherished wife, he is survived by three daughters, Stephanie Diane Lane of Edwardsville, Sydnie Nicole Sitzes of Granite City and Aleah Crenshaw of Granite City; two grandchildren, Rylie Christina Tellor and Charlie Jason Lane; mother, Linda Jean (Hooker) Curless of Wood River; father, Wayne Francis Sitzes of Collinsville; grandmother, Edna Miller of Rose Bud, Missouri; brother, Mark Constant of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Crystal (David) Huppert of Wood River; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Timothy and Jennifer Connolly of Granite City; nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Jeffery Curless; grandmother, Naomi Bush and great grandmother, Alvinette Metcalf.

In celebration of his life, a visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A pass and review will honor him at 6:00 p.m. by several departments and agencies. Timothy Alan Frost Sr., 68, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 6:00 a.m. Sun. Dec. 21, 2025 at La Bella of Edwardsville in Edwardsville, IL.

He was born Dec. 11, 1957 in Granite City to the late Gerald and Wilma (Minton) Frost.

Tim was a painter and retired from United Paint.  He was also a sports fanatic and loved to watch and play whenever he could. The St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues were his favorite teams.  He had been a tennis player and loved to play baseball and bowl and his sports trivia knowledge was extensive.

He is survived by a daughter, Amanda (Lindsey) Floyd of Grenada, MS, a son, Timothy Frost Jr. of Granite City, 3 grandchildren, Christopher Frost, Emersyn Floyd, and Cason Floyd, a brother, Jeff (Tracy) Frost of Granite City, a niece, Amber (Brian) Oritz of Manhattan, KS, a great-nephew, August, and his former spouse and friend, Marie  Frost.

Timothy Cleveland Creek, 65, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 2:43 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Memorial Care Center in Belleville, Illinois.

He was born on March 22, 1960, in Clarksville, Tennessee, a son of the late Edward and Nina (Davidson) Creek. On July 26, 1986, in Granite City, Illinois, he married the love of his life, Nita Eileen (Norris) Creek, who survives.

Timothy retired from American Steel after over 20 years of dedicated service as a leadman. 

He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching football, barbecuing for family and friends, and relaxing with old westerns. Above all else, he treasured the time spent with his grandchildren. Though stubborn at times, Timothy possessed a heart of gold and an unwavering love for his family.

In addition to his beloved wife, Nita, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jacob Creek of Granite City, Kyle and Sonni Creek of Granite City, and Michael and Allison Creek of Granite City; nine grandchildren, Vivian, Henry, Kadyn, Scarlett, Zeldris, Chloe, Emma, Benjamin, and Rory; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris and Kurt Howland of Granite City, Geneva Chastain of Granite City, and Lillie Creek of Granite City; many nieces and nephews; other extended family members; and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Creek and Danny Creek.

Lucille Anne DeLay, 82, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 8:04 a.m. Sat. Dec. 20, 2025 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

She was born June 14, 1943 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Mitchell John and Mary Felicia (Pikul) Aramowicz.

On June 29, 1974, she and Al John DeLay were married in Granite City at Holy Family.  He preceded her in death Apr. 22, 2011.

Lucille held many positions throughout her life from being a secretary to a teacher, including teaching at SIU-E, SWIC, Granite City High School and Venice Lincoln Technical Center.  She was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Audrey Joan DeLay of Granite City, a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Lynda Aramowicz of Worden, IL, 2 nephews, Nicholas Robert Aramowicz and Andrew Michael Aramowicz of Worden, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Mae DeLay of FL.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie DeLay Foley, and a sister, Rosalie Jean Aramowicz.

George William Lindley, 74, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 4:11 p.m. Fri. Dec. 19, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family while under hospice care.

He was born Dec. 27, 1950 in Gillespie, IL to the late George William and Marie (Meineke) Lindley.

On May 15, 1978, he and Beverly Kay Duncan were married in Granite City.  She survives.

George was a U.S. Army veteran.  Following his military service he worked as a welder for 40 years until his recent retirement from National Maintenance and Repair in Hartford, IL.  In his spare time he could be found outdoors hunting for arrowheads.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Dean Cupini of Granite City, and a granddaughter, Madelynn.

Including his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Zachary and Jonas Lindley, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Robert “Bob” Snyder, 63, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 10:33 a.m. Thurs. Dec. 18, 2025 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO surrounded by family and friends.

He was born May 21, 1962 in Belleville, IL to the late Donna Kay (Kelly) Newcombe and Robert Dale Snyder Sr.

Bob loved Harleys, cars, Hotwheels, fishing, working with his hands, and most of all, his family and friends.  

He was loved by everyone who knew him for his kindness, helping others, and for always being funny with a good joke.

He is survived by the love of his life, Veronica Morris of Granite City, 6 children, Joshua (Melissa) Snyder of Wentzville, MO, Crystal Hargrove of Granite City, Eric (Michelle) Snyder of Wentzville, MO, Matthew Gancheff of Chicago, IL, Christine (Dylan Sykes) Snyder of Collinsville, IL, and Catelynn Liniger of Columbia, MO. 6 grandchildren, Devon Snyder, Ethan Snyder, Mykayla Smith, Jazmyn Smith, Gavin Hargrove, and Grayson Slusher. 2 sisters, Kelly Snyder of St. Louis, MO, and Mary Veizer of St. Rose, IL. 2 brothers, Charles Verges of Collinsville, and Michael Snyder of Troy, MO.  He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great-grandchild. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his dad, Louis Alred, a grandson, Logan Snyder, and a sister, Bonnie Kay Sorenson.

Colen Young Tucker, 42, of Granite City, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 5:57 p.m. Tues. Dec. 16, 2025 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

He was born Feb. 15, 1983 in Rock Springs, WY to Karen (McClain) Dennington of Bernie, MO and the late Steven Michael Tucker.

Colen was an electrician and loved working in his field.  He also loved spending time with his family and shooting pool.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step-father, Kenny Dennington of Bernie, MO, fiancée, Jenna Ferguson, 5 children, Hanna Tucker, Zachary Tucker, Lailah Ferguson, Braxton Tucker, and Kenlee Tucker all of Granite City and many very close cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by 2 children, Brianna Tucker, and Jaxon Young Tucker, and his grandparents, Glen Young and Billie Joyce (Stanford) Tucker.

The family will hold a Celebration of Colen’s life at a later date.

Gary Lee Burnett, 66, of Madison, IL, passed away at 10:32 a.m. Tues. Dec. 16, 2025 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born Sept. 16, 1959 in Granite City to the late Ernest and Mildred (Phenix) Burnett.

Gary was a U.S. Navy veteran.  Following his military service, he retired after many years of working in maintenance for the Madison County Housing Authority.  In his spare time he loved to be outdoors fishing and hunting.

He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Burnett of Lacey Spring, AL, a son, Adam Burnett of Huntsville, AL, 2 grandchildren, Lawson and Ledger Burnett,3 granddogs, Rip, Teeter and Addie, a sister, Patricia (Rick) Justice of Edwardsville, IL, and 3 nieces, Vicki, Shelley and Heather.

Robert L. “Bob” Knobeloch, 80, of St. Charles, Missouri and formerly of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 10:24 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

He was born September 4, 1945, in Granite City, Illinois, the son of the late Arthur and Alice (Koesterer) Knobeloch. He married Carol J. (Jinkerson) Bressie-Knobeloch on August 9, 2024, in St. Charles, Missouri, and together they shared 34 years of love, companionship, and cherished memories.

Bob retired from Air Products and Chemicals in Granite City after 42 years of dedicated service as an industrial gas mechanic. A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, he honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City.

Bob was a lifelong car enthusiast who loved hot rods, Mustangs, and anything Ford. Above all, family was the most important part of his life, and he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; a daughter, Michelle (Bret) Broadwater of Granite City; a son, James (Julia) Knobeloch of Bethalto; two stepdaughters, Nicole (Dan) Welch of Wentzville, Missouri and Tanya (Todd) Farr of St. Peters, Missouri; a stepson, Thomas J. (Sara) Bressie of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Brandon (Mariana) Broadwater, Devon (Zack Dixon) Broadwater, Allison Broadwater, Aaron Broadwater, Peyton Broadwater, Mason Broadwater, McKenna Knobeloch, Morgan Knobeloch, Mallory Knobeloch, Megan Knobeloch, Aidan Welch, Liam Welch, Gavin Welch, Hunter Bressie, and Landon Farr; a special cousin, Dennis (Sue) Koesterer; and other extended family members and friends.

Ivy Marcia Warren, 73, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Mon. Dec. 15, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family while under hospice care.

She was born May 13, 1952 in Granite City to the late Robert and Ivy (Partridge) Cooper.

Her marriage to Larry Dale Warren Sr. took place Oct. 29, 1971 in Madison, IL.  He survives.

Marcia worked as a secretary for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City and later for Davita Dialysis Center in Sauget, IL, retiring after 35 years of service.

She loved life and her family.  She enjoyed shopping and yard sales.  She could always be found dancing and singing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Larry Dale (Monica) Warren Jr. of Troy, IL, and Timothy (Lisa) Warren of High Ridge, MO, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a sister, Patty (Gary) Whitworth of Wilsonville, IL, and 3 brothers, Robert Cooper of Channel View, TX, Johnny Cooper, and Billy “Tiny” Cooper, both of Benld, IL.

Janet Lee Cowley, 84, of Granite City, Illinois passed away peacefully at 12:07 p.m. with her family at her side on Monday, December 15, 2025.

She was born November 1, 1941, in Granite City, the daughter of the late Edward and Alene (Anderson) Robertson.

She married the love of her life, Frank Raymond Cowley on February 4, 1961, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Venice, Illinois and he passed away on January 6, 2023.

Janet had retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City after 15 years of dedicated and caring service as a nurse. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family, cherished her grandchildren and loved her dachshunds throughout the years.

She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Cowley of Granite City; a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Becky (Kozyak) Cowley of Maryville; three grandchildren and a spouse, Nicholas Roderick of Granite City, Ian and Alexis Cowley of Collinsville and Jacob Cowley of Maryville; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Robertson.

Malcolm Michael “Mike” Torosian, 91, of Glen Carbon and formerly of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Eden Village in Glen Carbon. He was born on October 22, 1934, in Granite City, the son of the late Harry “Artin” and Zabelle (Takmajian) Torosian.

Mike married Rose Ann (Kachaturoff) Torosian on July 2, 1966, at St. Gregory Armenian Church in Granite City. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2009.

He retired from Union Electric after more than 35 years of dedicated service as a chemist and proudly served his country with the United States Army. Mike enjoyed his work and had many fond memories with those he had worked with. During his early retirement years, he spent many winters in Vero Beach, Florida with his wife Rose and his brother Tange and his wife Jeannie whom he enjoyed with many other friends.

He was a longtime member of St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church in Granite City, where he faithfully served as a past Board of Trustees member and various other roles. Mike also had a lifelong love of aviation and a private pilot for 20+ years. He was man of many talents, a private pilot, an Oud player in an Armenian band that played at Armenian events around the Midwest, an electrician, chemist, wood worker, auto enthusiast, owning and restoring many classic cars over the years. He could fix anything and remained active with all of his hobbies until very recently. He had many friends whom he was actively involved with during his later years in life. Additionally, he served on the board of the Operator Engineers Credit Union and was deeply proud of his Armenian heritage and his upbringing in Lincoln Place.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Mathew and Angela Torosian of Castle Pines, Colorado; Michael and Lynn Bunjan of Nashville, Tennessee; and Bryan and Alice Bunjan of Glen Carbon, Illinois. He is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses: Sarkis Torosian, Simon Torosian, Josh and McKenna Bunjan, Zachary and Emily Bunjan, Blake and Carris Bunjan, and Brant and Lexi Bunjan; along with great-grandsons, Warren Bunjan and Graham Bunjan. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew “Tange” and Virginia Torosian, and by his two sisters and brother-in-law, Mathilda “Tilly” Torosian and Anita “Anno” and Dennis Hassler. Mike enjoyed his many family members and all the many activities and gatherings shared with them.

Susanna “Sue” Teresa (Kaman) Papa 78, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on October 4, 2025, at Autumn View Gardens in Creve Coeur, Missouri. The daughter of the late Stephen “Steve” and Dorothy Kaman, Sue was born in Madison, Illinois, on March 10, 1947. She married her eternal sweetheart Lawrence “Larry” J. Papa on July 11, 1970, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madison, Illinois, and is survived by her two daughters.

A retired public and Catholic school educator, Sue taught civics, social studies, physical education, and religion in Madison and Decatur, Illinois. Sue finished her career as a middle school educator at St. Patrick School in Decatur, Illinois. As a community leader, Sue shaped many lasting legacies for youth education, excellence and athletics — broadening opportunities for access and inclusion. An advocate for women and girls in sport, Sue was the first women’s soccer coach at Millikin University. She served on the boards of the Decatur YMCA, Junior Welfare Association, and St. Teresa High School. She donated her time and talents to assist survivors of intimate partner violence and abuse at Dove Inc and to support conservation efforts at Rock Springs Nature Preserve. There isn’t a soccer field, library, museum, nature preserve, or park in Macon or the surrounding counties that she didn’t influence. Her students, friends, and family will remember her sharp wit, curious mind, and open heart.

She is survived by her two beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Gina Papa and Jason Seebode of Atlanta, Georgia, and Alicia and Garrett Broshuis of St. Louis, Missouri; five cherished grandchildren, Josie Seebode, Chloe Seebode, Elena Broshuis, Ty Broshuis, and Maddox Broshuis; and two sisters-in-law, Pat Papa of Alton, Illinois, Jackie Papa of Bethalto, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers George and William “Bill” Kaman, sister Ethel Royce and many dear friends, neighbors, and family.

In celebration of her life, a memorial service followed by a luncheon will be held at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church at 155 N Main St, Glen Carbon IL, 62034, on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11:00 am.

Joan Diane Jarman, 84, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 3:35 a.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born April 13, 1941, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Durrell and Pearl Louise (Gilleand) Justice. Joan married the love of her life, Robert B. Jarman, on August 14, 1957, in Granite City. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1996, after many years of shared love and devotion.

Joan attended Grace Baptist Church for many years and cherished the friendships and fellowship she shared with Senior Circle and The Priscilla’s. She enjoyed working word search puzzles, playing games on her phone, shopping, crocheting, and expressing her creativity through crafts made from plastic canvas. Family was always the heart of her life, and she took great pride in being a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A sassy ray of sunshine, Joan will always be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the special moments she shared with everyone she loved.

She is survived by a daughter, Tammy R. Khammanivong of Mitchell; three sons, Robert K. (Diana) Jarman of Wood River, Bryan K. Jarman of Granite City, and Tracy L. “Chig” (Rachael) Jarman of Glen Carbon; five grandchildren, Chelsea Benz, Danielle (Jake) Peterson, Heather (Joey) Ozanich, Tiffany Khammanivong, and Brandon Khammanivong; six great-grandchildren, Landen Taylor, Kaysen Taylor, Austin Khammanivong, Bailey Peterson, Griffin Peterson, and Maverick Peterson; six siblings, Richard Justice, Jackie Schofield, Margie Margrabe, Duane Justice, Von Justice, and Gary Justice; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

William N. Knapp, 93, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 12:44 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Longevity of Granite City. He was born on August 12, 1932, in Granite City, the son of the late Arthur and Ruth (George) Knapp.

On August 11, 1956, in Granite City, he married Thelma Rella (Rudnicki) Knapp, who preceded him in death on April 7, 2025.

Bill retired from the United Steelworkers Local #1063 and the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local #8 of Illinois after many years of dedicated service at Granite City Steel as a bricklayer. He was a faithful member of Tri City Assembly of God Church, where he also served on the Board of Deacons. Bill enjoyed fishing and took great satisfaction in cutting and stacking wood.

He is survived by his son, William V. Knapp of Granite City; his daughter-in-law, Judith A. Knapp of Granite City; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Carol Crick of Edwardsville; his sisters-in-law Carol Cooper of Granite City and Sue Knapp of Staunton ; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Alan Knapp; his father- and mother-in-law, Joseph and Elma Rudnicki; his siblings, Gene Knapp, Dan Knapp, Marie Stein, and Carolyn Knapp; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Ray Cooper.

A visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel in Granite City from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. A private burial with full military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

James “Jim” E. Lorden, age 84, of Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at his home, wrapped in the love of the family who adored him. Born on April 29, 1941, in Chicago, IL, Jim entered the world as a blessing to his parents, the late Dennis J. Lorden and Mary Margaret (McEnerny) Lorden.

A proud United States Army veteran, Jim served his country with honor and humility—values that continued to guide him throughout his life. On April 14, 1962, he married the love of his life, Helen Sudholt, beginning a remarkable 63-year journey of devotion, partnership, and unwavering love.

Together, they built a life rooted in faith, laughter, and the joy of raising their family. Jim was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he found strength and community.

Jim carried an unmatched work ethic and spent many dedicated years as an electrician with Lever Brothers. He also served with pride on the Lever Brothers Credit Union Board and was a longtime member of International Chemical Workers Union #344. Outside of work, his outgoing spirit drew him to the Paddlers Swim Club and at the YMCA, and he was known for cheering—loudly and loyally—for his beloved St. Louis Blues.

While Jim enjoyed his hobbies and community, his heart always belonged to his family. He was happiest surrounded by them—sharing meals, telling stories, offering advice, or simply enjoying each other’s company. His grandchildren were truly his pride and joy, and he cherished the honor of becoming a great-grandfather. His presence was a steady, loving anchor in their lives.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his infant son, Terrence Patrick Lorden, and by his siblings, Mary “Pat” Healy, Ted Lorden, and Terrence Lorden.

Left to treasure his memory are his beloved wife, Helen Lorden of Granite City, IL; his devoted children, Edward Lorden of Collinsville, IL, Kathy (Steve) Neal of Granite City, IL, and Krista (Ron Sr.) Weaver of Shipman, IL; his cherished grandchildren, Jessica Weaver, Ron Weaver Jr. (Dakota Wallace), Spencer (Savanah Luna) Neal, and Conner Neal; his treasured great-grandchild, Rocky Rose, and his dear sister-in-law, Barbara Lorden. He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.

Mattie Lena Pope, age 95, of Maryville, IL, and formerly of Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Aspen Creek in Troy, IL, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 23, 1930, in Louisville, KY, she was the cherished daughter of the late Henry Lowe Jones and Lyda Mary (Stavley) Jones.

On October 13, 1950, in Atlanta, GA, Mattie married the love of her life, Robert Milton Pope, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years before his passing on September 22, 2004. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

Mattie dedicated many years of her professional life to Magna Bank, formerly First Granite City National Bank, where she rose to the role of bank officer and was admired for her integrity, kindness, and unwavering work ethic. A devoted member of Caseyville United Methodist Church, she found joy in serving the Lord, singing, and connecting with her church family.

To know Mattie was to be welcomed with warmth. She never met a stranger, and her generous spirit enriched her community, where she was very active. She had a love for music, a passion for traveling the world, and a deep devotion to the people she cared about most. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mattie was preceded in death by her siblings, Walter Jones, Elizabeth Paine, Yvette (Veda) Landreth, and Donald Jones.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her daughters: Sandy (Terry) Burton of Granite City, IL; Angie (Randy) Proffitt of Granite City, IL; and Joy (Jim) Caschetta of Maryville, IL. She is also survived by her dear sister, Imogene Hamilton; her treasured grandchildren: Michael Burton, Robert (Jenny) Proffitt, Dea (Shawn) Martin, Beth (Dave) Causey, Jenna (Nick) Hans, and Stacey (Michael) Cremer; and her adored great-grandchildren: Riah, Trinity, Timothy, Emily, Maddie, Nolan, Evan, and Lyanna. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were brightened by her presence.

In celebration of Mattie’s remarkable life, visitation will be held Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, IL. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m., lovingly officiated by her daughter, Rev. Joy Caschetta, with her grandson, Robert Proffitt, serving as liturgist. Jerry L. Lockhart, 80, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 10:37 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Eden Village in Glen Carbon. He was born on April 22, 1945, in Granite City, a son of the late Boswell Lorraine Lockhart and Lois Eileen Jacobs.

Jerry retired from the Granite City Post Office after many years of dedicated service as both a carrier and clerk. He was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church in Granite City, where he enjoyed Bible study, helping decorate for special occasions, and spending time with his church family. He was also an accomplished artist with a keen sense of design. Jerry loved painting and drawing and shared his talents by teaching art classes throughout the years.

He enjoyed day trips, thrifting, and antiquing, always drawn to items with historical interest. Many happy days were spent exploring flea markets in search of unique finds. Jerry was known for his bright smile, sharp wit, wickedly funny humor, and his unwavering kindness. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed.

He is survived by his longtime companion, friend, and caregiver, Mary Holten of Granite City; along with extended family, his church family, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Terry Lee Lockhart and a sister, Mary Lou Robeen.

Ronald Gene Geiser, 66, of Granite City, IL passed away at 3:10 p.m. Fri. Dec. 5, 2025 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

He was born Apr. 16, 1959 in St. Louis, MO to the late Peter and Viola (Dixon) Geiser.

On June 11, 2022, he and Donna Ann Kleuskens were married in Granite City.  She survives.

Ron was a U.S. Army veteran and continued to be active in his support of other veterans.  He enjoyed playing guitar and was a member of 6 String Heroes, teaching other hospital bound veterans learn to play guitar.  He retired after several years working as a chef at Giuseppe’s.

In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by a daughter, Gina  (Shaun) Elders, a step-daughter, Amy Poe of Granite City, a step-son, Chad Whitford of Granite City, 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a brother, William “Bill” (Melissa) Geiser and a nephew, Ron (Kim) Geiser.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 step-daughters, Nicole Lance, and Mandy Martinez and siblings, Mary and George.

Ron made a gift of his body to Washington University to help others.  The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Helena Renee Harris, 50, died at 2:48 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025 at her residence.  

She was born July 14, 1975 in Alton, the daughter of Richard Dean and Della Mae (Sanders) Smith.  

Helena worked as a registered nurse with the Illinois State Hospital for many years.  She was married to Scott Andrew Harris, Sr.

Besides her husband and parents she is survived by one daughter, Kyleigh Nikole Fisher of Granite City, two sons, Korby Nikolas Kennedy and Scott Andrew Harris, Jr. and five grandchildren, Briella, Marley, Lani, Korbi and Aurora.

Brent Allen Robertson, 46, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 3:57 a.m. Fri. Dec. 5, 2025 at Gateway Regional Medical Center ER in Granite City.

He was born May 24, 1979 in Lawrenceburg, TN to the late Erma Lucille (Davis) Robertson and Douglas Lavon Robertson.

He and Tia Robertson were married June 19, 1999 in Granite City.  She survives.

Brent was a diesel mechanic by trade.  He loved to cook, shoot pool and roller skate.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Aleczander Robertson, Alivia Robertson, Aliana Robertson, Adalyn Robertson, Randy Mayes III, and Alexis Mayes, 2 grandchildren, Aviana, and Randy IV, 2 sisters, Lavonda Moore, and Lanette Robertson all of Granite City, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, DJ Mayes, and 2 brothers, Otis Robertson, and Lavon Robertson.

Adelbert J. “Sonny” Ambuehl Jr., 86, of Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born on September 22, 1939, in Edwardsville, IL, Sonny was the beloved son of the late Adelbert J. Ambuehl Sr. and Doris Mae (Schmidt) Ambuehl.

A proud United States Army veteran, Sonny served his country with honor and carried that same dedication into every chapter of his life. On April 14, 1962, he married the love of his life, Karan Thetford, at the Methodist Church in East St. Louis, IL. Their marriage of sixty-three years was a true partnership—full of devotion, laughter, and unwavering commitment.

Sonny lived a life rich with purpose and passion. As the longtime owner and operator of Dewitt Paint Company in Granite City, he built lasting relationships with customers and friends throughout the community. He was a faithful member of Nameoki United Methodist Church and a proud, active member of Granite City Elks Lodge #1063, where he poured his heart into functions and the “Friday Fish” dinner.

Known for his warm smile and easy conversation, Sonny never met a stranger. He was an exceptional cook, a skilled marksman who enjoyed target shooting, and a man who found joy in travel, tending his garden, and taking long drives simply to see where the road would lead. He loved old western and war movies, but nothing compared to the time he spent with his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent spoiling them.

Preceding him in death are his parents; his brother, Richard Ambuehl; and his precious granddaughter, Ghia Richardson.

Sonny leaves behind his devoted wife, Karan Ambuehl of Granite City, IL; his loving sons, Blake (Luz) Ambuehl of Granite City, IL, and Gregory (Imelda) Ambuehl of Las Vegas, NV; and his adored grandchildren, Donna (Chance) Westover of Canyon Lake, TX, Kara (Zach) Pangelinan of Granite City, IL, and Deanna (Barry) McBain of Fords, NJ. He is also survived by his treasured great-grandchildren—Holly, Alec, Ghia Page, Kymani, Zephyr, and Myles—and his cherished great-great-grandchildren, Ghia Grace, Hero, Everly, and Avery. Sonny’s life was further enriched by extended family and countless dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

A visitation celebrating Sonny’s life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, IL. The Elks Memorial Ritual and funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m.

Danny William Miller, age 76, of Granite City, IL, peacefully entered his heavenly home on Friday, December 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted family. Born on April 23, 1949, in Geff, IL, Danny was the son of the late Chester Leon Miller and Pearl Martha Helen (Haws) Miller.

A proud Vietnam Veteran, Danny honorably served his country as a Spec 4 medic in the United States Army at Fort Hood, TX, from 1969 to 1971. His compassion, courage, and dedication to caring for others defined his service—and would continue to shape the rest of his life.

On February 8, 1973, Danny married the love of his life, Pamela K. Jarvis, in Granite City, IL. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in faith, love, and unwavering devotion, celebrating 52 blessed years side by side. Danny was a faithful member of Calvary Life Church, where he joyfully served the Lord and found deep fulfillment in his church family.

Danny dedicated 38 years of loyal service to Granite City Steel, retiring as a heater operator on the hot strip in 2008. Known for his strong work ethic, big heart, and warm smile, Danny never met a stranger. He had a gift for making others feel welcome, seen, and appreciated.

He treasured time spent with his family going on trips, laughing often, and sharing stories, Danny especially treasured trips to Reelfoot Lake, where he found peace in nature and joy in casting a line. Above all, his greatest pride and happiness came from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom lit up his world. Spoiling them was not just a pastime, it was a calling he embraced wholeheartedly.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon McCain.

He leaves behind a legacy of love in his devoted wife, Pamela Miller of Granite City, IL; his beloved children, Laura (Gerald) Boyles of Granite City, IL, Gregory Miller of Granite City, IL, and Liz (Jason) Vickery of Granite City, IL; his dear siblings, David (Beverly) Miller, Jimmy (Penny) Miller, Sheila Miller, Ronald (Shirley) Miller, and Donald (Chris) Miller; and his cherished mother-in-law, Patsy Hilligoss.

Danny was a proud grandfather to Ashley (Kyle) Melton, Annabeth O’Connell, Mitchell Boyles, Owen Vickery, and Brooke Vickery, and a delighted great-grandfather to Silas Melton, Sawyer Melton, Ellory O’Connell, and Oliver O’Connell. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives he touched.

A graveside service celebrating Danny’s remarkable life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Pastor Mark Maynard will officiate, and the United States Army will render full military honors. Family and friends are invited to gather at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, IL, at 10:15 a.m. The funeral procession will depart for the cemetery at 10:30 a.m.

HATTIE MAE (KEEL) BEAUCHAMP

Hattie was a ray of sunshine and sweetness who will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nannie Keel, her sisters, Berniece, Mildred, Betty, her brother Lonnie, and too many dear friends.

Hattie will be remembered for her dedication to serve, which she began to demonstrate at Granite City High School. She was elected the first female student body president, and also served as Student Council President there. In a tribute to her beauty and grace, she was selected Harvest Queen in 1950. Her senior class also named her the Friendliest Girl.

As an adult, Hattie was a dedicated employee of Hathaway Corporation, Tulsa, Oklahoma, working in accounting and human resource positions for forty years, through mergers and acquisitions, until her retirement in 1999.

Always physically active, Hattie loved to dance, attending swing dances at the Homebuilders Association for years. Bowling was a passion at which she excelled, winning many medals and trophies through the years, especially by participating in the Senior Olympics.

Always productive, creative, and not easily bored, Hattie learned to paint, create ceramics, and cross-stitch, all of which she mastered and shared with her friends and family. We cherish her legacy of creativity and giving.

Throughout the hardships of her life, Hattie not only persevered, but grew and flourished, always sharing her smile and good nature with others, most especially her dear friends David Bergfield and Ben Schuppert, whom she loved dearly.

Hattie is survived by her sister, Dorothy (Keel) Bailey and her half-brother Ron Perigen. She is also survived by daughters Marcia Beauchamp (Rick Diener) and Cheryl Hull (Bill), grandson Justin (Jenny Briggs) and great-granddaughter Miller Briggs-Hull, all of Tulsa, and her grandson Michael Hull and his wife Lauren Katherine, of Dallas.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at St. John Cemetery, 2901 Nameoki Road, Granite City, Illinois. Following the graveside service, a celebration of Hattie’s life and funeral luncheon will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Mill Event Space, 1311 20th Street, Granite City, IL.

Joyce F. Taylor, 90, of Granite City, died at 12:25 p.m. Wed. Dec. 3, 2025 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

She was born Jan. 8, 1935 in Granite City to the late Guy and Bonnie (Westbrooke) Pasley.

On Feb. 19, 1951, she and Harold J. Taylor Sr. were married in Madison, IL.  He survives.

Joyce worked the desk, did books and was a promoter for AMF Bowland Lanes in Granite City, retiring after 28 years.   She attended Frist Baptist Church in Granite Cithy.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Sherri Lynn (Davin) Guardiola of Glen Carbon, IL, 2 sons, Harold J. Taylor Jr. and Steven Andrew Taylor of Granite City, 7 grandchildren, Derek Guardiola, Amanda Taylor, Georgia Taylor, Daniel Marler, Chloe Bunch, Daniel Scott Robertson, and Lori Taylor, 8 great-grandchildren, Trinity Marler, Willow Marler, Jordon Anthony Guardiola, Mason Guardiola, Chase Hopkins, Jesse Hopkins, Finn Marler, and Mia Heberlein, and 2 sisters, Mary Nettle of MA, and Judith Buckingham of Granite City.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Ann Bunch, a son, Wesley Scott Taylor, 2 grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, and Wesley James Taylor, a daughter-in-law, Carla Taylor, and siblings, Leonard Pasley, Isaac Pasley,, Margaret Hollenbeck, Jessie Ashburn, Helen Love, Bonita Mayor, Macie Todaro,  Shirley Wilson, Dorothy Smith, and Darlene Hillis.

Bert Eugene Jones, 83, of Granite City, IL passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.  

Bert was born on June 16, 1942, in Granite City to the late Amos and Leora (Adams) Jones.  

At the age of 17, Bert enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed out of San Diego serving 6 ½ years of combined active and reserve duty.  After an honorable discharge he stayed in California working with Pacific Bell as a cable splicer and coin operator repairman. In 1965, Bert returned to Granite City and began working for Illinois Bell Telephone Company which lead to a successful career in the telephone industry before retiring from AT&T in 1994. 

Bert married the love of his life in 1968 and settled in Mitchell, IL where he and Ruby would raise their family and make lifelong friends In 1972, Bert joined the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department beginning a lifetime of dedication to his community. For over 40 years, Bert served with the MVFD as a Firefighter/EMT, and in 2006 continued his service by serving as District Trustee. Bert also served as Commander of the AMVETS from 2002 to 2004.  

In his spare time, Bert loved spending summers with family and friends at his property on Carlyle Lake where those moments are now cherished memories.  

He is survived by his wife Ruby of 57 years, his daughter and son-in law, Sheri and Brian Kershaw, grandchildren, Kalyn and Kyle, a sister, Vivian Miller, nieces, Cindi, Robin and nephew David along with many extended friends that were more like family to Bert.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kevin Jones, and two brothers, Melvin and David Jones.  

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8th, 2025, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory until time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Randy Vollmar officiating.  Immediately following the service, a light luncheon will be held at the Chouteau Township Hall on Thorngate Road in Granite City, starting at around 2:00 p.m.

Carole Elaine McGee, 85, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. Born April 18, 1940, in Granite City, she was a daughter of the late Anthony Joseph and Irene (Bagi) Mangi.

She married the love of her life, Daniel J. “Danny” McGee, on July 7, 1962, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Venice, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2011. 

Carole retired from Olin Brass in East Alton after 15 years of service as a core cutter.

A devout Catholic, Carole was dedicated to her faith and active in her church communities. She was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, where she participated in parish dinners and activities throughout the years, and was most recently a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City. She was also a member of the Venice Social Club and enjoyed supporting her children’s school activities through the PTA.

Carole was a beauty school graduate and lovingly tended to the hair of many family and friends. Known for her wonderful cooking and her love of conversation with friends, she will be remembered most for the deep love she held for her family.

She is survived by her three children, Michael McGee of Granite City, Christine McGee of Granite City, and John (Connie) McGee of Fairview Heights; two grandchildren, Timothy McGee and Anna McGee; a sister, Joyce Tite of Edwardsville; and two brothers, Larry Mangi of Granite City and Terry (Kathryn) Mangi of Granite City. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters-in-law, Cheryl Mangi, Rosemary McGee, and Mary Ann Huntstein, and a brother-in-law, Tom McGee.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2300 Pontoon Road in Granite City, with Father Alfred Tumwesigye as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church or for Masses.


Steven Ray Davis, 66, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at his home on Monday, December 1, 2025. He was born on January 12, 1959, in Granite City, the son of Raymond L. Davis of Granite City and the late Glenda S. (Fritz) Davis.

Steven dedicated 20 years of service as a custodian at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Prior to that, he worked for many years in grounds maintenance at the Granite City Army Depot until its closure. He was an avid classic rock fan who loved listening to music, playing chess, watching football—especially cheering on his Green Bay Packers—and playing stickball. 

Steven also enjoyed collecting stamps and was a devoted sports enthusiast. Above all, he was a true family man who cherished time spent with his loved ones and friends.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Jerry) McWhorter of Altamont; his son, Steven Michael Davis of Collinsville; several grandchildren; and five siblings: Brenda (Keith) Bell of Dallas, Texas; Dennis (Debra) Davis of Granite City; Martin (Theresa) Davis of Granite City; Douglas Davis of Granite City; and Kristina Wolfe of Festus, Missouri. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother-in-law, Randal Wolfe.

Visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A funeral service will follow on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Mark Maynard officiating. Steven will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates Garden Mausoleum.
