Doris Ann Henke, 82 of Granite City passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Alton Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
Doris was born on July 21, 1939 in Batesville, AR; the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (Collins) Flinn. Doris was a sales clerk at Famous Barr and in her free time she enjoyed her days of researching her family ancestry and gardening. Doris was known for rescuing animals, especially dogs and was very generous donating to numerous charities. Most of all Doris loved to spend time with her family and will be remembered for all the special time they shared together.
Doris is survived by and will be missed by her husband; William “Bill” Henke Sr., whom she married on October 6, 1961; her daughters, Melissa and Stephen Hane of Granite City, Melinda Henke of Maryville, IL; son, Bill and Anne Henke Jr. of Hardin, IL; grandchildren, Andrew and Hannah Skoklo , Alex Henke, Katheryn Henke, Elizabeth Sauer, Nicholas Sauer; sister, Mary Cawly and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her brothers, Gary Flinn, Charles Flinn and Calvin Flinn.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Doris’s life, services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Rodgers, age 66, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her home.
Cindy was born on June 6, 1955 in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Jack Conner and Betty (Kilmer) Apponey.
On June 16, 1978, Cindy married James “Keith” Rodgers, the love of her life in Granite City, IL. Cindy worked for AMAR Medical in Granite City, IL, for many years. She enjoyed bowling, playing candy crush and bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Cindy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Conner.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Keith Rodgers of Granite City, IL; loving children, Lisa (Kelvin) Brown of Granite city, IL and Brett Rodgers of Granite City, IL; proud grandmother to Broc Rodgers; dear siblings, Marvin (Brenda) Conner of Granite City, IL, Cliff Conner of VA; Lisa Distler of Belleville, IL and Clint Conner of FL; many nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends.

Robert “Bob” Lynn Snyder Sr., age 68, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Bob was born on January 10, 1953 in Granite City, IL, a son of the late Gerald Snyder and Ruth (McClelland) Snyder.
Bob retired in 1999, as a painter out of Painters District Council 53, Local 120 in Collinsville, IL, after many years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Word of Life Tabernacle in Granite City, IL. Bob enjoyed going to flea markets and collecting anything that caught his eye. He also loved wrestling, working on bicycles, lawn mowers and cars. Bob was a jack of all trades and he could fix or build anything he put his mind to. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, boyfriend, uncle and a dear friend. Bob will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a stepson, Chad Stafford; and by a brother, Gerald Wayne Snyder.
He is survived by his loving sons, Robert (Maranda) Snyder Jr., of Okawville IL and Joseph (Chelsea) Snyder of Troy, IL; dear siblings, Nancy (Richard) Clasen of Chester, IL, Darlene Winters of Granite City, IL, Bruce Snyder of Granite City, IL and Karen Johnson of Granite City, IL; proud grandfather to Audrey, Blake, Mason, Steven, William, Natali, MaKayla and Emma; devoted girlfriend, Claudia Branch of Granite City, IL; many nieces nephews, extended family and friends.

Linda Grace Ollis, age 78, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Caseyville Nursing and Rehab in Caseyville, IL.
Linda was born on March 27, 1943 in West Frankfort, IL, a daughter of the late George Wayne Willis and Ruth Evetta (Johns) Willis.
On May 2, 1968, Linda Willis Doolin married Darvin “Dewane” Ollis in Madison County, IL, and Dewane passed away on December 9, 1995. Linda was a member of Word of Life Tabernacle in Granite City, IL.
Linda and her late husband Dewane shared many hobbies, talents and business ownerships such as, Ollis Photography, Crafting, Video Stores, Pizza Restaurants, Dancing Donuts and participated in a local TV Program Gospel on the Road. She later retired as a sales associate from Wal-Mart after many years of dedicated service. Linda loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Meme.
Linda was always motivated by good music to jitter bug by and for using her talented vocals to sing for family, friends and at church functions. She especially enjoyed using her beautiful singing voice while rocking her grandbabies, which later prompted the “No rock Meme – No sing Meme” to try and halt the oncoming of nap time.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a dear friend to many. Linda’s presence in our lives will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by a son in infancy, David Doolin; and by her sister, Joyce Johnson.
She is survived by her loving children, Dana Ficker (John Richardson) of Granite City, IL, Darin Ollis of Granite City, IL and Diana (Greg) Stout of Poplar Bluff, MO; proud grandmother to Brandi Ficker, Bo (Rachel) Ficker, Ashlie (Mike) Harris, Luke Ollis, Aryiel Stoops and Blake Ollis; proud great-grandmother to Samantha Johnson, Bradley Harris, Shane, Payton and Keria Clatt, Lexi Harris, Luke Ficker, Jake Ficker and Averi Ollis; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Michael James Meyers, 48, of Pontoon Beach, Il, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 28th, 2021.
He was born in Belleville, IL on September 23rd, 1972 to Harold and Donna (Garner) Meyers.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Harold E. Meyers Jr.; Paternal Grandparents Harold Sr. & Verna Meyers, Maternal Grandparents Earl & Marie Garner along with a many Aunts and Uncles.
Michael is survived by his mother, Donna S. Meyers of Pontoon Beach, IL; sisters, Cindy (Willie) Harrison of Granite City, IL, Michelle Meyers of Staunton, IL and Angela (Tim Maisel) Meyers of Pontoon Beach, IL; Aunts: Jane (Rick Foltz) Severs of Belleville, IL and Karen Kelley of Belleville, IL along with additional Aunts, Uncles and many cousins. Leon W. Owens, 46, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City at 8:59 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021.
He was born April 13, 1975 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of Leon Wagoner of Detroit Michigan and the late Zenobia Owens.
He worked at Walmart in Granite City with 21 years of dedicated service as an overnight stocker. Leon enjoyed baseball, video games and loved to cook. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Melissa Dix; six beloved children, Dominique Boyd, Maria Martinez, DaMonte Owens, Tamia Owens and Leon I. Owens; cherished grandchildren, Amarion Michael Boyd, Braylin Boyd, Javeonte Boyd, Ezra Lawrence, Tristian, Elijah and Elena; two dear sisters, Tina Owens and Anita Jones; many nieces; nephews; cousins; special friend (like a mother-in-law), Millie Cathey; other extended family and friends. We all miss you dearly. Spread your wings and fly high until we meet again one day.
In celebration of his life, a private visitation for Leon’s family will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Mary Frances Boyd, age 91 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, September 3rd at 10:00 a.m. in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Illinois with Rev. Mark Maynard officiating. Burial will follow with Chris Wyatt, Shawn Dean, Frankie Cheatham, Brett Dean, Tony Dean, Sam Dean, and Nicholas Lance serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Illinois 62040 on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. There will not be a visitation at the funeral home prior to the graveside service on Friday.
Mrs. Boyd was born on May 4, 1930 in Gallatin, Tennessee to the late Dalton McCulley and Stella Slicer Dean. She was a homemaker. She loved to shop, work in her garden and flowers. Mary loved her family and grandchildren dearly and was a member of Calvary Life Church in Granite City, Illinois.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Boyd; son, Jim Dean; sister, Helen Holtzclaw; brother, Allen Dean; step-father, Monroe Dean.
Survivors include her son, Michael (Louise) Dean; daughters, Sandra (Tommy) Wyatt, Debra (Robert) Boswell, and Karan (Mark) Monroe; sister, Juanita Whitehead; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Leola L. Winn, 76, of Madison and Granite City, Illinois passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born March 16, 1945 in Granite City, a daughter of the late George and Leola (Schweinel) Sedabres.
She married Charles P. Winn on November 2, 11964 in Washington Park, Illinois and he passed away on March 9, 2011.
She had worked at Sigma Chemical in St. Louis for many years and enjoyed her days of working crossword puzzles, reading and crocheting.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark Winn of Madison and Rick and Lisa Winn of Belleville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Lonnie Smith of Granite City; ten grandchildren, Krystle Parks, Marky Winn, Jared Winn, Michael Anderson, Morgan Frame, Nathan Hutchinson, Brittney Hutchinson, Shelby Winn, Jakob Winn and J.C. Winn; a great grandson, Jack Anderson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Williams of Granite City and Betty and Ron Rojas of California; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Damon Hutchinson; a sister, Shirley Swigert and two brothers, George and Joey Sedabres.

Debra M. Jones, age 68, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, IL.
Debra was born on June 5, 1953 in Fort Knox, KY, a daughter of the late Ralph K. Martin Sr. and Ada Mae (Rhodes) Martin.
Debra was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a dear friend to many. She was a self employed bookkeeper for many years. Debra enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, gardening, and embroidery. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Debra never met a stranger and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sharon (Brian) Brace of Glen Carbon, IL and Crystal (Brian) Matthews of Maryville, IL; dear siblings, Joyce (Thomas) Jones of Granite City, IL and Ralph (Alison) Martin Jr. of Alton, IL; proud grandmother to Emmaline Brace, Aralyn Brace and Ethan Grace; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Darin Christopher Clutts, 54, of Pontoon Beach passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born February 25, 1967 in Granite City to David Lee and Dorothy (Wilson) Clutts. He is survived by his mother and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, David Lee Clutts II and sister, Laura Clutts.

Deborah L. “Debbie” Hildebrandt, nee Pfeiffer, 66, of Granite City, IL, born June 10, 1955, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, August 21, 2021, at her residence.
Debbie loved to ride Harley-Davidson motorcycles with her dear husband, John.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Cleon, nee Spinnenweber, Pfeiffer; a brother, Dennis Pfeiffer; a sister in infancy, Linda Jean Pfeiffer; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Pfeiffer.
Surviving are her husband of 17 years, John Hildebrandt, whom she married July 6, 2004; a stepson, Michael Krause; a step-granddaughter, Alexandria Krause; a brother, David Pfeiffer; a nephew, Brad (Pam) Pfeiffer; a niece, Amy (Steve) Gomric; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Gary) Allison and their family, and Helen (Richard) Carter and their family; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Carolyn Ann Barker, 83, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 1:09 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at her home.
She was born April 4, 1938 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Arcolino “Yock” and Hilda (Turck) Lombardi.
She married George R. Barker Sr. on May 18, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City and he passed away on April 28, 2010 after 57 years of marriage.
Carolyn enjoyed her days of golfing, loved tending to her yard and cherished her grandchildren. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, George R. Barker of Granite City and Edward Anthony Barker of Collinsville; a daughter, April Davis of Granite City; seven grandchildren, Amy Barker, Samantha Ferrell, Jason (Jen) Barker, Ashley Williams, George R. Ernesto “Neto Luna Sr., age 67, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL.
Neto was born on February 8, 1954 in El llano Mich. Mexico, a son of the late Miguel Luna Sr. and Salud (Lara) Luna.
On December 1, 1990, Neto married Tamara “Tammy” Null in St. Louis, MO. Neto was a member of Calvary Life Church in Granite City, IL. He worked as a dietary aid at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, IL. He was an talented musician and he enjoyed playing the saxophone in the Miquel Luna Orchestra. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Neto loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Neto was preceded in death by a son, Timoteo Luna; and by two brothers, Alberto and Miguel Jr.

Tina Kay Woolverton, 58, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:16 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021.
She was born August 6, 1963 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Gerald M. and Charlotte M. (McCoy) Thompson.
Tina cherished her family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Crystal and Curtis Mossman of Granite City, Miranda and Trae Bolin of Granite City and Audrey Woolverton of Granite City; two sons, Kenny Woolverton Jr. of Granite City and Eric Woolverton of Granite City; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Gerald Thompson Jr., David Thompson and Phillip Thompson; three sisters, Sandy Woolverton, Linda Brunson and Elaine Nola; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Shannon Hicks, 46 of Granite City, IL passed away on August 14, 2021 at her home.
Shannon was born on December 6, 1974 in Granite City. She was a machine operator for TKC Holdings in St. Louis. In her free time she enjoyed going to the show to watch horror movies and was a well known animal lover. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Shannon is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Danny Hicks, whom she married on September 14, 1996; her son, Alexander Hicks of Granite City; mom, Ruth (Daniels) Marcum of Granite City; cousin, Mark Allen and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Shannon was preceded in death by her dad; Gary R. Marcum and her son, Adam Jacob Hicks.

Deric C. Sowell, 47, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 1:19 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born August 13, 1974 in Granite City, a son of Mike and Barbara (Holtkamp) Sowell of Granite City.
He was a skilled electrician with 20 years of service with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #309 in Collinsville.
Deric was a member of the Sons of Legionnaires and was of great knowledge working with and fixing computers. He enjoyed listening to music, enjoyed cooking and food in general. He cherished his daughter and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by a precious daughter, Kiersten Sowell of Collinsville; his favorite sister and a brother-in-law, Christy and Phill Torrez of Granite City; a brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Cherise Sowell of Granite City; grandmother, Demona Holtkamp of Glen Carbon; nieces and nephews, Josh, Jacob, Jesse, Lucas and Brooklyn; several aunts and uncles; cousins; other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jesse Holtkamp and Charles “Pappy” and Helen Sowell.
There will be no services held and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Milford “Bud” Earl Cook, 90, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Thurs. Aug. 19, 2021 at Gateway Regional Medical Center ER in Granite City.
He was born Oct. 15, 1930 in Bollinger, MO to the late Willis & Laura (Stevens) Cook.
On Oct. 6, 1962, he and Mary Ann Wiser were married in Granite City. She preceded him in death June 10, 2021.
Bud was a US Navy Korean war veteran serving on the USS Iowa. After military service he was a baker for Hostess Bakery in St. Louis, MO.
He is survived by a daughter: Karen (Jeff Ford) Smith of Granite City; 2 grandchildren: Alexia (Austin) Gregory of Bentonville, AR and Nathaniel Smith of Granite City; and a sister: Myrtle Davis of Jonesboro, AR.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Kimberly and Mary Ellen Cook; 3 brothers: Henry, John and Truman; and 5 sisters: Essie, Jessie, Opal, Wilma and Grace.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 3:00 p.m. Sat. Aug. 28, 2021 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors.

Carl Ray McDonald, 83 of Granite City passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Collinsville with his beloved daughter and granddaughter by his side.
Carl was born on October 8, 1937 in Granite City; the son of the late Thomas and Lela Fern (Alexander) McDonald. Carl was a chemist for United States Steel and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a past member of Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City where he was choir director. Carl was an active member of the Granite City Masonic Lodge #835 as well as Scottish Rite in Belleville. Carl was an outdoorsman who was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the NRA and enjoyed tracking migratory waterfowl as well as hunting ducks and geese. He was an avid fisherman and an expert woodworker and a member of S.O.A.R. and had a talent for duck calling. Carl was well known as a very giving and selfless person who was willing to help anyone in need. Most of all Carl loved his family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Carl is survived by and will be missed by his daughter; Laura Meehan of Collinsville, IL; son Kelly McDonald and Jim Davis of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter, Erika Meehan of Maryland Heights, MO; brother, Roger McDonald and his doggies Sparky and Abby.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife Carol F. (Miller) McDonald on March 29, 2021 and his sister, Barbara Modrusic.
In celebration of Carl’s life, a visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. with Masonic service at 11:30 a.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Ida “Rosella” Fuller, 88, of Glen Carbon and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 10:46 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Eden Village.
She was born September 15, 1932 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Cyrus Corree and Ida Belle (Ketchum) Sammons.
She married Kenneth R. Fuller on April 7, 1957 in Jonesboro, Arkansas and he passed away on March 13, 2015.
Rosella was a devout Christian and loved her time spent reading and studying the Bible. She was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church and was a charter member of Suburban Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending the Women’s groups at church and had also bowled with the church bowling league through the years. She enjoyed her days of crocheting, baking and reading and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by five children and their spouses, Linda Fuller-Coleman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wanda Weber of Belleville, Michael and Kathy Fuller of Greenwood, Indiana, Kenneth and Lora Fuller of Granite City and Angela and Kevin Grillion of Granite City; eight grandchildren and spouses, Bruce William Coleman Jr., Roseann Lee, Erol (SooJin) Weber, Drew Weber, Chad Weber, Lyndsay Fuller, Kylie Fuller and Kelsey (Alex) Thomas; four great grandchildren, Devin, Brittney, Alyssa and Elena; several great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband of 58 years and parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and six sisters.

James “Jim” Albert Cuvar Sr., 75, of Pontoon Beach, IL, passed away at 6:25 a.m. Sat. Aug. 21, 2021 at University Nursing & Rehab in Edwardsville, IL.
He was born July 30, 1946 in Granite City, IL to the late Andrew & Mable (Richardson) Cuvar.
On Aug. 19, 1968, he and Lynn Cornelius were married in Granite City. She preceded him in death Sept. 22, 2019.
Jim was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He had been a forklift operator for Mallinckrodt and owned and operated Lynn’s Place with his wife. He was a member of Legion Post #307 and loved animals, especially his dogs.
He is survived by a son James “Jimmy” Daniel (Priscilla) Cuvar of Granite City; 3 grandchildren: Allison (Billy), Brianna and Bryce; and 2 brothers: Leonard (Sharon) Cuvar of Middleton, OH and David Cuvar of Bunker Hill, IL.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Robert, Andrew, Stanley and Daniel; and a sister: June Makina.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m. Wed. Aug. 25, 2021 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Rd.

William C. “Bill” McBee, 90, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home.
He was born July 20, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late William Maxwell McBee and the late Vestelle (Gilliam) Montanye.
He married Marilyn J. (Powers) McBee on May 21, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri and she survives.
He had served as a custodian with the Granite City School District for 17 years until his retirement in 1995. After his retirement, he went to work for the Casino Queen with 16 years of service as a custodian.
“Mac”was known to be a collector of anything collectible, was an avid rock, mineral and fossil hunter for many years, enjoyed fishing and photography throughout the years. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife of 66 years, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kathy McBee of St. Charles, Missouri; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Erik Dam of Castle Pines, Colorado; five grandchildren, Samantha McBee, Nicholas Dam, Stephanie Dam, Paxton Culp and Haley Johnson; two great grandchildren, Elijah Durso and Lincoln Culp; a sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Victor Martin of Valparaiso, Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Cathy Wess; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin McBee and a sister, Helen Rolf.

Nancy Ruth Hall, 75, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Fri. Aug. 20, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 5, 1946 in Granite City to the late Melba Fae (Howell) Medley and Arnold Alvy Storey.
On Aug. 23, 1997, she and Gerald Hall were married in Granite City. He preceded her in death Aug. 3, 2019.
Nancy had been the office manager for Dr. Aronberg. She loved going on vacations and was a member of DAV Granite City Chapter #53 Auxiliary and the Granite City APA.
She is survived by 4 children: David (Cindy) Harkey Jr. of Macks Creek, MO, Karla (William) Burger of Lebanon, IL, Kathy Baugus of Granite City and Jason Harkey of Kampsville, IL; 8 grandchildren: David Harkey III, Amanda Bollenbach, Kristin Zimmer, Brandon Munie, Alex Burger, Jacob Burger, Nicholas Burger and Marissa Harkey; 5 great-grandchildren: Veda, Norah and Isaac Bollenbach and Elena and David Harkey IV; a brother: Gary(Pam) Storey of Freeburg, MO and 2 sisters: Leah Storey-Stilley and Dee Anne (Tom) Byrne Scott, all of Troy, IL.

William R. “Fab” Free, 89 of Granite City passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at his daughter’s home in O’Fallon, IL.
William was born on December 18, 1931 in Granite City; the son of the late George Free and Mattie (Wagener) Free Mathis.
William was a dedicated forklift driver for 27 years at Nestle’ Corporation, where he was a member of the “Labor Gang”. William was a member of S.O.A.R. and a well known #1 St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed his days of traveling and going to the low water dam and was always up for a good game of horseshoes. He loved going to watch his grandkids play in their sports activities, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
William is survived by and will be missed by his daughters; Marla and Bob Ullrich of Granite City, Andrea and Chris Briggs of O’Fallon, IL; grandchildren, Corey Slecka, Nathan Briggs, Ashleigh Briggs, Kara Jean Briggs; sisters, Alice June Campbell, Sharon Rollins; brothers-in-law, Oliver “Jeff” Rains, Charles Rains and many other close family members and friends.

Dorothy A. Malear, 88, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 10:19 a.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis.
She was born May 21, 1933 in Dongola, Illinois, a daughter of the late Owen and Cora (Beggs) Sitter.
She married Dorris W. “Bud” Malear on April 6, 1952 in Plato Center, Illinois and he passed away on March 21, 2013.
She was an avid reader and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her friends and family.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna and Charles Brown of Granite City and Kimberly Malear of Dupo; six grandchildren, Danny, Crystal, Stacey, Brandon, Brooke and Sandy; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Luella Hammack of Anna and Wanita Rutledge of Dupo; other extended family and friends.

Susan Willette, nee Hinson, 61, of Granite City, Illinois, born March 31, 1960, in Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away at 10:45 a.m., Friday, August 13, 2021, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.
Mrs. Willette previously worked at National States Insurance Company in St. Louis, Missouri for 21 years before leaving in 2010. Loved being a grandma, cross stitch, and making afghans.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara, nee Reading, Hinson.

John Wesley Green, 92 of Granite City passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Stearns Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granite City.
John was born on October 16, 1928 in Granite City; the son of the late James and Lula (Hargrove) Green. John retired after 31 years of dedicated service at Union Starch working in boiler room maintenance. John was a member of City Temple in Granite City and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan who loved to games. He volunteered his time to the Granite City Township Senior Center where he enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends. Most of all John loved to spend time with his family and friends and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
John is survived by and will be missed by his daughter; Carolyn Malone of Granite City; grandson, Jeff Malone of Granite City and many other close friends.

Michael Allen Yarbrough, 59, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 1:36 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born December 4, 1961 in East St. Louis, Illinois, a son of Mildred (McGee) Hastings of Granite City and the late Ronald Hastings Sr.
He married Lisa R. (Misturak) Hogan-Yarbrough on October 29, 2011 in Madison and she survives.
He had over 30 years of service as a truckdriver and had worked for SS Pallet Company in Madison. The United States veteran proudly served his country with the Marine Corp. He cherished his dogs, Bobo, Daisy, Willow, Timber and Pudge and his granddog, Ol’ Red. He was always ready for an adventure and exploring a place to eat. “How we gonna outdo this”

Elvin M. “Sarge” Siebert, 89, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 in Collinsville.
He was born October 10, 1931 in Seminary Township, Illinois, a son of the late Carl and Opal (Eller) Siebert.
He married Anna (Chernisky) Siebert on December 9, 1952 in Jeffersonville, Indiana and she survives.
He retired from the Granite City Post Office after 20 years of dedicated service as a letter carrier. The United States Army veteran proudly served his country during the Korean War and also retired as a Master Sergeant from the Army Reserves after 22 years of service. He was the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions throughout his years of service.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Mulberry Grove and enjoyed attending church at First Baptist Church of Maryville. He was very talented in his construction traits and built many homes throughout the area. He loved his barn and spending time at his property in Mulberry Grove where he enjoyed fishing, tinkering with his tractor and tending to his yard. Elvin will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 69 years, he is survived by six loving daughters and five sons-in-law, Judy Novosel of Granite City, Sandy Blankenship of Collinsville, Janet and Jamie Jackopin of Sugarland, Texas, Connie and John Ceriotti of St. Louis, Nancy and Brian Dodson of Staunton, Amy and Scott Martin of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jack Schooley of Granite City; eleven cherished grandchildren, Julie, Emily, Jackie, Jennifer, Valerie, Sydney, A.J., John, Matthew, Jessica and Grant; eleven dear great grandchildren, Jackson, Addyson, Joan, Juliette, Carson, Evelyn, Riley, Sadie, A.J. V, Merritt and Knox; a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Jeana Siebert of Vandalia; a sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Mick Broaddus of Raymond; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Edna Siebert Weiss and Bonnie and Robert Minor; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Judith K. Modrusic, nee Ashby, 82, of Bunker Hill, Illinois, formerly of Granite City, Illinois, born July 18, 1939, in Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 7:10 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2021, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.
Mrs. Modrusic worked at the Granite City Public Library for 21 years before retiring in 2000. She was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, picking blackberries, polka music, going out with friends for lunch, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren preparing and baking Polish and Croatian dishes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Elizabeth L., nee Ulanski, Ashby; brother, Michael D. Ashby; and sister, Patricia A. Byers.
Surviving are her husband, John Modrusic of Bunker Hill, Illinois, whom she married October 8, 1960, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granite City, Illinois; son, David (Laura) Modrusic of Edwardsville, Illinois; daughters, Anne (Brian) Meehan of Edwardsville, Illinois, and Stefanie (Dave) Boyer of Worden, Illinois; grandchildren, Matthew, and Meagan Modrusic, Alison, and Kyle Meehan, and, Joseph, and Audrey Boyer; and many loving extended family and friends.

Shirley R. Tretter, 87, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Stearns Nursing and Rehab in Granite City.
She was born June 19, 1934 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Devaney) Wolf. She married Melvin Francis Tretter on February 13, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City and he passed away on September 14, 2007. She and her husband were the owners and operators of the Dairy Master in Madison for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, enjoyed her years of activities with the Granite City Township Hall, country line dancing with W.O.W., attending many events with the Belleville Senior services and working with Twigs.
She had also served as the lunch lady with the Granite City School District for several years. Shirley always enjoyed socializing and entertaining and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Colleen Tretter of Granite City and Paul and Darla Tretter of Granite City; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth “Liz” and Steve Basarich of Granite City; seven grandchildren, Andy, Natalie, Mandy, Michael, Lori, Tyler and Becky; six great grandchildren, Jacob, Jackson, Kara, Avery, Brynn and Sloan; several nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Michael Anthony Sulic, Jr, 56, of Madison, IL died on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Integrity Nursing Home in Wood River, IL.
He was born on September 9, 1964 in Granite City, IL to Michael Anthony Sulic, Sr and Wanda (Shimboff) Sulic.
Michael attended the Faith in the Word Church in Mitchell, IL. He enjoyed being outdoors riding his bicycle and mowing grass.
He is survived by a brother, Earl Sulic of Madison, IL and 2 sisters: Kathy Hartman of Madison, IL and Theresa Holland of Madison, IL.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents.

Glenna Eaton, 89 of Granite City, IL passed away at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, MO on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Glenna was born on March 20, 1932 in Herrin, IL; the daughter of the late Glenn and Cleva (Meadows) Whitaker. Glenna had last worked as a secretary for General Steel and was a member of Calvary Life Church in Granite City. In her free time Glenna enjoyed her days of embroidering, gardening and she was always looking forward to spending time with her family during the holiday season. Glenna loved all animals, especially her cats and she will be remembered for all the special times she spent with her family and friends.
Glenna is survived by and will be missed by her daughters; Sheryl and Edward Grote of Granite City, Patty and Mike Hayes of Granite City; son, Steve Eaton of Granite City; grandchildren, Elizabeth Grote, Jacob Grote, Aaron and Kim Hayes, Ben and Kim Hayes, Emily Hayes; great-grandchildren, Ava Hayes, Aiden Hayes, Calvin Grote; sister, Ruth Buer and many other close family members and friends.

Dolores J. (Prusak) Perkins, 89, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 6:11 a.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at her home.
She was born August 6, 1932 in Madison, a daughter of the late Stephen and Josephine (Kowalinski) Prusak.
She married Jack Ray Perkins on May 16, 1953 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City and he passed away on June 18, 2019.
Dolores was a devout Christian and especially loved the Psalms. She had several prayer groups that would routinely meet and petition the Lord on behalf of the lose and hurting. As a member of Holy Family Catholic church, she served as a Eucharistic minister. In her life Dolores was known as a “word” woman. By that I mean everyone who knew her has at one time or another been corrected by her for grammar, syntax, or pronunciation. (LOL) She was the Queen of scrabble, and various types of word games and puzzles. Her field of expertise came from years of work as a proofreader/writer and employee of Reportype, Cliff Kelley, and PGAV. She was passionate about writing in her life and if you were the recipient of one of her artistic, creative cards, you were blessed. No matter what special occasion it was, your mailbox received a card or letter of her love and support. She will be greatly missed by many now, but reunited with all believers some day. We love you mom, grandma, and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband of 66 years and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Perkins; a son, Joey Perkins; a brother, Dwight Prusak and her sister, Priscilla (Prusak) Harley.

Melba June Evans, 79, of Granite City, IL died on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.
She was born on July 11, 1942 in Parma, MO to Lowell and Edna (Whitworth) Wallace.
Melba enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts. She also enjoyed family activities with her children and grandchildren.

June Marie Makina, 66, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Thurs. Aug. 12, 2021 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
She was born May 26, 1955 in Granite City, IL to the late Andrew & Mabel (Richardson) Cuvar.
She married Danny Eugene Makina. He preceded her in death.
June had worked for A.G. Edwards/Wells Fargo. She was a member of Faith in the Word Church and loved to golf and spend time with her daughter and grandson.

Shirley Ann Mayfield, 67, of Pontoon Beach, IL, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at her Home.
She was born January 7, 1954 to Clarence and Alberta (Frazier) Mayfield .
Shirley worked as a secretary for the Department of Labor. In her free time she enjoyed Sudoku, puzzles, crocheting and eating sweets!
She is survived by her 2 sons: Justin Mayfield and James Herendeen; 2 daughters: Lindell Presley and Robin Pierson: 4 grandchildren: a brother; John Mayfield: and a former beloved husband; David Pierson.

Jacklyn T. Dell, 60, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Sun. Aug. 8, 2021 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born Dec. 20, 1960 in St. Louis, MO to the late Owen C. & Pauline E. (Mangipaine) Hawkins.
She and Gerry Dell were married in Edwardsville, IL. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include 4 sons: Robert Martin, Christopher Martin, Eric Kleba and Shane Hawkins; a grandson: James Hawkins; and 3 sisters: “Sam” Mundell of GA, Debbie York of GA and Laura (Edwards) Mangas of MO.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Walter Camman; and 3 sisters: Teresa Aman, Anna Teson and Rose Camman.

Barbara Jo Bradley, 86 of Granite City, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Carlinville Nursing & Rehabilitation with her daughter by her side.
Barbara was born on June 27, 1935 in St. Louis, MO; the daughter of the late Joseph Raymond and Bertha Effie (Stone) Lee.
Barbara served as the new account representative at Colonial Bank in Granite City and was also the secretary at Company Adjustment Bureau, which her husband owned. She was a member of the Clover View Garden Club and she spent her free time enjoying her days of sewing and playing cards with her friends. She enjoyed her many travels throughout her life and made many memories with her sister and brother-in-law on their Branson trips and with her friends on many bus tours. Most of all Barbara loved her family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Barbara is survived by and will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law; Marilyn Lee and Daniel Kallal of Chesterfield, IL; granddaughters; Beth Ann Schutte, Rebecca Lee Kallal; great-grandchildren, Kasten Schutte, Kailyn Schutte; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn Ray and Ned Buckmaster and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband; William Howard Bradley, whom she married on September 9, 1954 and her grandson-in-law, Travis Schutte.

Susie B. Whitehead Branham, 94, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born in Roselle, Missouri, a daughter of the late John and Ada (Byrd) Faulkner.
She married Roy Whitehead on October 16, 1946 in Granite City and he passed away on December 4, 1981. She later married Clyde Branham on October 10, 1998 in Granite City and he passed away on June 13, 2007.
Susie was a faithful, devoted and loving homemaker whom was always there to tend to her family. She was a faithful member of Calvary Life Church in Granite City where she enjoyed being a part of the Joy Pals group. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by nine children and spouses, Jackie and Deborah Whitehead of Granite City, Linda Burke of Granite City, Patricia and Tom Richardson of Granite City, Ronald and Dava Whitehead of Granite City, Rose and Mike Barnett of Maryville, Betty and Larry Webb of Columbia, John Whitehead of Granite City, James and Terry Whitehead of Granite City and Michael and Tommie Whitehead of Sullivan, Missouri; many grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to both husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph Whitehead and Stephen Whitehead; four brothers, Robert Faulkner, John Faulkner, James Faulkner and Frankie Faulkner and three sisters, Naomi Byrd, Ethel Jones and Melvina Faulkner.

Melba Lynn (Gruver) Nichols, 62 of Mitchell, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at her home.
Lynn was born on September 3, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri. Lynn had last worked as an Administrative Manager for Twin Lake Trucking in East St. Louis and was active in the AmVets in Madison. In her free time she enjoyed her days of camping with her husband Tim and had 3 very special friends, Karen, Becky and Candy. Lynn loved all animals, especially her dog, “Dots” and enjoyed watching hummingbirds in her backyard. Lynn will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.
Lynn is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Tim Nichols, whom she married on October 2, 1999; mom, Brooksie A. Kenneth Douglas Carr, 87, of Granite City, IL, passed away Thurs. Aug. 5, 2021 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
He was born Feb. 27, 1934 in Granite City, IL to the late Virgil & Lorhee (Melton) Carr.
He and June Lee Lobsinger were married Feb. 5, 1955 in Maplewood, IL. She survives in Maryville, IL.
Ken was a U.S. Navy veteran and had worked for International Shoe Co., Nesco Steel Barrel as a plant manager and served as president of the United Steel Workers Union. After retirement he drove a bus for the Granite City School District. He was an avid Cardinals fan. His grandkids and great-grandkids were the love his life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons: William (Lynnea) Carr of Granite City and Robert (Laura) Carr of Staunton, IL; 4 grandchildren: Brian (Angel) Carr, Amie Clemens, Dustin (Diane) Rieger and Stacey (David) Parrish; and 4 great-grandchildren: Reese Rieger, Addyson Clemens, Elliott Carr and Emerson Carr.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Shirley, Dee, Blondie and Helen.

Lucille Nadine Mossa, 91, of Madison passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
She was born November 28, 1929 in Wichita, KS. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madison. Lucille was an avid reader who enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, cooking and needlework.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary (James) Kreher of Smithton, Joyce (Michael) Nonn of Granite City and Alene Mossa of Shiloh and six grandchildren, Michael Kreher, Jennifer Schenewerk, Karen Ready, Kristy Fisher, Sarah Mossa and Frank Derner III; 13 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse Mossa in 2008; father, Earl Putnam; mother, Opal (Swann) Fox; infant daughter, Teresa Mossa; brother, William Putnam and two sisters, Earlene and Dorothy.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madison at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 with Father Steve Thompson as Celebrant. Burial will be private.
