Gloria Lucille Clark<\/strong>, 92, of Granite City, IL passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Liberty Village in Maryville, IL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was born on November 2, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to Archibald Wagner and Ruth (nee:  Benton) Rogers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The loving mother and grandmother retired from Granite Nursing & Rehab, formally Colonnade, after 25 years of service as a CNA.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family and she also enjoyed reading and fishing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Gloria is survived by 5 sons:  Michael (Debbie) Griffith of Staunton, IL, Mark (Faegie) Griffith of Glen Carbon, Melvin (Diane) Griffith of Pocahontas, IL, Robert (Welie) Clark of Granite City and David (Juanita) Clark of the Philippines; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and daughter in law, Barbara Biggs..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by 2 sons:  Benjamin Clark and Richard Clark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amanda Broyles<\/strong>, 41, passed away on May 29, 2026, at 2:08 p.m. in St. Louis, Missouri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was born on August 6, 1984, in Granite City, Illinois, to Anthony Broyles and Rebecca Sarginson. Amanda proudly served her country in the National Guard as a truck driver and completed two combat tours during her military career before being medically retired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her service reflected the strength, determination, and courage that defined her throughout her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amanda had a heart as big as her smile. She possessed a deep love for animals and rarely met a stray she wouldn’t try to help. She opened her home and heart to countless animals over the years, determined to give them the love and care they deserved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 Family was the center of her world, and some of her favorite moments were the simple ones\u2014stopping by her mother’s house to sit, talk, and enjoy each other’s company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Above all else, Amanda was a devoted mother. Her children were her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She cherished every opportunity to cheer them on, whether at sporting events, school activities, or any pursuit that brought them happiness. The love she had for her children was unwavering and unconditional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is survived by her loving mother, Rebecca, and stepfather, Brian; her three beloved children Rylan, Rori, and Jameson; three siblings Tony, Nick, and Terra; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amanda was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Broyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Illinois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burial with full military honors will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In honor of Amanda’s lifelong compassion for animals, memorial donations may be made to a local animal shelter of the donor’s choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amanda’s strength, kindness, and selfless love for both people and animals will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
