Granite City is gearing up for one of its most anticipated celebrations of the year, and this time, the festivities come with new features, a new parade route, and a schedule adjusted to stay one step ahead of the forecast. Mardi at The Mill returns on February 14th, and once again, Granite City proves that no one does Mardi Gras quite like we do.

This year\u2019s parade will begin at 11:15 a.m., with a revised route designed to keep things running smoothly. The lineup starts at Madison Avenue and 26th Street, then moves straight down Madison Avenue before turning onto Niedringhaus Avenue. The parade will wrap up at Niedringhaus Avenue and Delmar Avenue, bringing the celebration right into the heart of the city\u2019s arts district. The earlier start time is intentional, giving everyone the best chance to enjoy the parade before the rain moves in.<\/p>\n\n

New for 2026 are the heated tents, a major upgrade that will make the event more comfortable for everyone. These tents will connect directly to the Mill\u2019s garage doors, creating one continuous indoor\u2011outdoor space for food, drinks, music, and gathering. Vendors will be set up inside the tents, offering plenty of options to eat, sip, and warm up before the entertainment begins.

The music kicks off at 12:45 to 3:30 p.m. with Sweetie and the Toothaches, followed by a performance from John Shanahan at 3:45 to 6:30. Both shows are FREE to the public, and there is no reserved seating, so arriving early is the best way to grab food, find your spot, and settle in for an evening of live music and Mardi Gras fun.

The event is coordinated by Kari Shipley Gifford, working under the direction of Brenda Whitaker, Granite City\u2019s Arts, Entertainment, and Tourism Director. Kari credits the success of Mardi at The Mill to the cooperation and support she receives from across city government, starting with the mayor\u2019s office and extending through every department that helps bring this celebration to life. It\u2019s a true community effort, built on teamwork and pride in what Granite City can accomplish together.

Mardi at The Mill continues to grow each year, and 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most memorable yet. From the parade to the heated tents to the live music, this is a celebration that reflects the spirit, creativity, and resilience of Granite City.
