On Tuesday, September 30, Granite City Firefighters Logan, Andrew, Eric and Dave paid a special visit to the Granite City Park District Preschool at the Brown Rec Center, turning an ordinary afternoon into a lively and educational experience for the city\u2019s youngest learners.

The visit was part of the department\u2019s ongoing commitment to community outreach and fire safety education. With sirens silenced and helmets gleaming, firefighters engaged preschoolers with hands-on demonstrations, friendly conversations, and interactive lessons designed to make fire safety both fun and memorable.

\u201cWe love getting out in the community and teaching all ages about fire safety,\u201d the department shared in a Facebook post, reflecting their dedication to public service beyond emergency response.

Preschool staff expressed heartfelt appreciation, noting how attentive and kind the firefighters were with the children. \u201cYou all were amazing with the kiddos today,\u201d one teacher commented. \u201cWe are so lucky to have you protecting our community.\u201d

This visit is just one example of how Local 253 continues to build trust and foster relationships throughout Granite City\u2014starting with the youngest members of our community.<\/p>\n\n
