Overnight Fire Destroys Long-Standing Pontoon Beach Property

An overnight fire at 3710 Pontoon Road has left a long-standing Pontoon Beach property in ruins. Fire crews from multiple departments responded to the scene after calls for mutual aid went out to help contain the blaze. Despite their efforts, the building burned extensively and ultimately collapsed, leaving behind what appears to be a total loss.

The property had recently undergone remodeling and was expected to reopen as a small market. Later, rumors circulated that the plan had shifted toward opening a Bourbon House, but those plans also changed once a license for that business was denied.

Before its latest transformation, the building had served the community for years as a dentist office and a title company, making it a familiar fixture along Pontoon Road.

This marks the second property lost in the 3700 block in just a matter of weeks. In late February, the former Comfort Heating & Cooling building at 3780 Pontoon Road, later home to Nemo’s Pet Shop, was demolished after sitting vacant and deteriorating for years.

The back-to-back losses have left a noticeable gap in one of Pontoon Beach’s most traveled corridors, raising questions about what comes next for this block.
