Precoat Metals will be expanding its Midwest Metal Coatings (MMC) plant in Granite City, IL. The plant, which applies coatings and film laminates to steel and aluminum coils, has been in operation since 1999 and is one of three Precoat Metals facilities in the St. Louis metro area. The expansion will include extensions to the building and enhanced truck access, together increasing storage capacity and improving logistics to result in greater efficiency and production capacity.

Patrick Connelly, the Vice President of Operations at Precoat Metals said, “We are building this expansion because the customers are asking for it. They want it because the MMC team is doing a great job and we are going to give the team better tools to please the customers. Precoat Metals turned 60 years old this year and we are building towards the future of the company.”

Construction is expected to be completed in late 2022 and the company hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, October 27th from 10am to 1pm at 9 Konzen Court, Granite City, IL 62040.
