Mitchell Fire Department held its annual Christmas celebration of 2025

Another fantastic year as the Mitchell Fire Department held its annual Christmas celebration at the Moose Club. A special thank you to all of our volunteers who dedicate countless hours to serve, preserve, and protect our community.

Firefighter of the Year was awarded to Lieutenant Skoklo.

A Special Award for exceeding 500 calls was presented to one of our hardest-working firefighters, Nathan Branding.

Continuing a proud family tradition, a Mitchell Fire Department District Award was presented to Firefighter Nicholas Branding for his outstanding service and dedication.

A Special Recognition Award was also given to our Junior Department for their participation in this year’s Annual Stair Climb at Cahokia Mounds. These juniors faced extreme conditions, with temperatures reaching 105 degrees, all while wearing full gear.

Their commitment and determination are a testament to the future of the fire service.
Our junior firefighters are learning from the very best. Deputy Chief Kolb and Captain Parker have done an exceptional job leading, mentoring, and preparing these future firefighters.
