McDonald’s MONOPOLY Returns—But Will Granite City Play?

Beginning October 6, McDonald’s customers across the country can once again “peel and play” for a chance to win everything from free food to a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited or even $1 million in cash. But in Granite City, the return of the beloved MONOPOLY game comes with a question: Will local customers look past years of frustration to join the fun?

For many in the community, the experience at Granite City’s McDonald’s locations has been less than golden. From extended wait times to inaccurate orders, residents have voiced their dissatisfaction for years. Social media threads and casual conversations often echo the same sentiment, “It’s just not what it used to be.”

Yet the allure of MONOPOLY may be strong enough to rekindle interest. This year’s promotion features both physical and digital game pieces, allowing fans to collect properties, enter bonus plays, and track prizes using the McDonald’s app. Customers who order select menu items in the app will earn digital pieces, while others will receive peel-off pieces on packaging.

Bonus gameplay runs through November 2, and early birds who pre-register in the app between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5 will receive 500 MyMcDonald’s Rewards points. So, will Granite City residents give McDonald’s another shot for the chance to win big? Time, and game pieces will tell.
