GraniteCityGossip.com, December 1, 2025

Granite City is aglow with holiday cheer as the Christmas season arrives, bringing with it a calendar full of festive traditions, family gatherings, and community celebrations. From twinkling lights downtown to the sound of carols filling the air, our city is ready to embrace the magic of the holidays together.
This year’s lineup of events includes:
The Candy Cane Parade and Mistletoe Market will bring color, laughter, and holiday shopping opportunities to the heart of town.
The Granite City High School Theatre will present A Christmas Carol, inviting audiences to relive the timeless story of Scrooge and the spirit of giving.
The Master’s Voice Choir and other local ensembles will fill the season with music, reminding us of the joy found in harmony and tradition.
The Old Six Mile Museum will be hosting a Christmas event where you can tour the old Emmert-Zippel house that is now the museum. Experience an old-fashioned Christmas from days gone by.
From the Senior Social Club’s Christmas Party to trivia nights and pageants, neighbors will come together to celebrate friendship and community spirit.
Children can meet Santa at the Granite City Cinema, enjoy the Winter Reading Challenge at the library, or marvel at live reindeer during the Winter Reindeer Party.
Lunch With Santa at the Amvets, a beloved tradition where families can share a meal, enjoy holiday activities, and make memories with the “big guy” himself.
These and other events can be found in the GraniteCityGossip.com Community Calendar, but beyond these events, the season is about connection, generosity, and gratitude. Whether you’re volunteering, supporting local businesses, or simply sharing a smile with a neighbor, every act of kindness adds to the warmth of Granite City’s holiday spirit.
As we step into December, let’s celebrate not only the traditions we cherish but also the resilience and unity that make Granite City special. May this Christmas season be filled with joy, laughter, and memories that last a lifetime.
