Granite City High School senior Adrianna Ireland has been selected to the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Festival, one of the highest achievements available to high school musicians in the state. After a highly competitive audition process involving thousands of students, Ireland earned 4th chair trumpet in the prestigious Honors Band.
During the festival, held in Peoria, she rehearsed alongside the top young musicians in Illinois under the direction of Colonel Jason Fettig, former conductor of the President’s Own Marine Band. The intensive rehearsals culminated in the Honors All-State Concert on Saturday, January 31 at the Peoria Civic Center.
Ireland’s performance was exceptional, and she represented Granite City with distinction. Selection to the All-State Festival is considered the highest honor a high school music student can receive, and the district celebrates her outstanding accomplishment.
