A Message from Nameoki Township Supervisor John Eric Foster
GraniteCityGossip.com Feb 21, 2026
Dear Residents,
I hope you’ve been enjoying the recent warm weather as we look forward to Spring. The March 17, 2026 primary election is quickly approaching, and early voting is already underway.
My name is John Eric Foster, and I am running for County Board District 21 and Precinct Committeeman for Nameoki Precinct 3.
On the ballot, you will see two very different choices for Precinct Committeeman. To help you make an informed decision about the direction you want for our precinct, I am sharing a clear comparison of my record and experience with that of my opponent. All business concerning conservative candidates is discussed and voted on at the Madison County Republican Central Committee (MCRCC).
My Record of Service — John Eric Foster
Selected as a delegate by the Madison County Republican Central Committee (MCRCC) at the State Convention held in Collinsville last year.
Provided guidance and information to the Granite City Conservatives at their monthly meetings to help promote conservative values. This election cycle, they have nine new Precinct Committeepersons on the ballot — an outstanding accomplishment.
As your Township Supervisor, and together with the Nameoki Township Trustees, restored financial stability to the township while increasing services and reducing the tax levy for residents.
Selected to chair or serve on multiple non‑paid board assignments throughout the county to help improve township and county programs.
Owner and operator of a small business in Nameoki Township for 35 years, building strong relationships and serving the community.
Maintained a 96% attendance rate at MCRCC meetings to stay informed and represent the interests of our precinct.
Regularly use my personal equipment, fuel, and time to clear large mounds of snow left by plow trucks so neighbors can safely leave their driveways. My opponent has repeatedly reported me to Madison County Building and Zoning for having this equipment at my residence while assisting residents, resulting in wasted county resources and unnecessary inspections.
Endorsed by all countywide officeholders.
My Opponent — Nicholas (Nick) Cohan
Achieved the position of District Chair through a weighted vote, not a popular vote of the MCRCC.
Removed from the State Convention floor for inappropriate behavior.
Banned from the Granite City Conservative meetings for inappropriate behavior.
Only Precinct Committeeman in MCRCC history to be served with a cease‑and‑desist order for slanderous and untruthful comments about elected officials.
Has held no District Chair meetings.
Has provided no District Chair reports to the Central Committee.
Has attended less than 5% of MCRCC meetings.
Has brought no new members to the MCRCC.
Has severely damaged — and in some cases completely ruined — relationships with elected officials and ranking members of the MCRCC.
Filed frivolous litigation against Nameoki Township, resulting in wasted taxpayer dollars before the courts dismissed the case for lack of merit.
A Clear Choice for Nameoki Precinct 3
The differences between the candidates could not be more significant. On March 17, 2026, you will have the opportunity to choose the direction of Nameoki Precinct 3.
I respectfully ask for your support and your vote.
Thank you,
John Eric Foster
