Here is the comparison:
Rate Period & Rate

Ameren Illinois Residential Rate
May 2026
8.769 cents per kWh

June 1, 2026
11.326 cents per kWh

June 1, 2025
12.180 cents per kWh

The June 1, 2026 rate is an increase of about 29.2% compared to the May 2026 rate.

However, compared to the June 2025 rate, the new June 2026 rate is about 7% lower.
For a household using 800 kWh in a month, the change from 8.769 cents to 11.326 cents per kWh would amount to about $20.46 more for that portion of electric supply and transmission charges, before other bill charges, adjustments, taxes, or fees.

It is important to note that the Price to Compare is not the entire electric bill. Ameren Illinois bills also include delivery charges, taxes, fees and possible monthly adjustments. Customers who are enrolled with an alternative retail electric supplier or a municipal aggregation program may have a different supply rate.

Customers can check the “Electric Supply” section of their Ameren Illinois bill to see whether Ameren or another supplier is providing their electric supply and what rate they are being charged.
