Mayor Ed Hagnauer It Is Time For Some New Ordinances
and Enforcement Of Them
Submitted by Fed Up Citizen on May 10, 2017

Mayor, you were once again re-elected by the citizens of Granite City.  What
term is this for you?  I'm not sure, but I know what time it is for you, it's time
to cite any and all trash and property maintenance ordinance violations,
and if there is no ordinance to cover
what it takes to clean up this embarrassment to our town, your City Council
needs TO DO THEIR JOB and pass some!
Contact the Realtors trying to sell these piles of crap,
cite the owners...DO SOMETHING!

How can we expect residents to take pride in our city when the city has dropped
the ball and allowed all the situations (below) to not only start, but to continue
year after year.
Ace Hardward Trash Heap, inside the fencing, outside the fencing, everywhere.

What a great impression for anyone visiting or city,
much less anyone considering opening a business.
The citizens of this town deserve better!

Television full of garbage anyone?

Maybe someone should call the power company?!?
Behind the Salvation Army, completely unacceptable!

Who owns this building?  Who own this parking lot?
Who owns the fence?
Whoever needs to produce some broom and rake
action.  NOW
They should also repair the pot holes that riddle the
ENTIRE SHOPPING AREA.

Who missed these donations?  Seriously?

Who missed these?  How about an investment in
some exterior paint by the landlords?

Same fence, more donations.
Wasn't Granite City awarded the Governor's Hometown
Award?  What year was that?  What happened?
What is visible when crossing the overpass on Pontoon Road.  Who owns this shopping center,
what stores are responsible for this embarrassment and why are they allowed to treat our town
like this?  Because they can?

Is this our Granite City or the blighted ghetto
that is now East St. Louis?

Rent to own business - why rent when you
can pick up a few used mattresses and a set
of wet, damp, bug infested living room furniture out
in the back?  Don't mind the peeling paint.
All visible when driving east over the overpass.
Councilmen?  Mayor?  Your opinion?

Same shopping center, only in front where
people drive and park.  Is our local government
so complacement and indifferent that they
feel no action against the property owner is
warranted?  Mayor?  Mr. Amos?

How about some sign repair and the smallest
investment in a little curb appeal
and building maintenance?
This is hard to believe.  Shameful.  Right on Nameoki Road.
Why are the citizens of this city not outraged?

Who owns this property?
It should have been bulldozed or updated
twenty years ago!

Nice rusty advertising sign right on
our main thoroughfare.  The owner of this
business isn't embarrassed
to advertise like this?
WHERE IS THE PRIDE?

There were no less than thirty signs
on Nameoki Road the day I took these
pictures.  WHY?
Call the number, make up some kind
of arrangement to meet the culprit,
then slap them with a fine!
IS THERE AN ORDIANCE AGAINST THIS?
If not, why?  If yes, why isn't it enforced?
This makes our town TRASHY!

WHAT THE HELL?
Does our mayor or our
aldermen ever drive through
this part of Granite City?
EMBARASSING!
The North end of Maryville Road, between SWIC and Maryville School.
Who is the landlord?  Wasn't this zoned commercial?  Doesn't look commercial to me.
I WOULD LIKE AN EXPLANATION FROM OUR CITY HALL.
MAYOR?  CITY COUNCIL?

AND WE WONDER WHY WE ARE DWINDLING IN POPULATION,
WE WONDER WHY NO NEW BUSINESS IS WILLING TO INVEST HERE.

THIS IS THE REASON AND THE BUCK STOPS AT CITY HALL
