What’s Brewing is a series of breakfast conversations to explore issues, connections, and opportunities for St. Louis metropolitan
area communities. For the Fall 2018 series we will visit parts of the St. Louis region where arts and culture are integrated into
We have partnered with local artists and leaders that are actively engaged in these neighborhoods to explore how arts and culture
influence and impact community development. Granite City, Illinois has a rich set of cultural and arts assets integral to their city's
revitalization. This community offers strong examples and lessons learned along the way about the roles that arts and culture play
in community revitalization.
Join us for this breakfast conversation to explore arts and culture in community development. This session will include:
*Brief background presentation by Dr. Todd Swanstrom of UMSL (10 min)
*A panel discussion featuring neighborhood leaders who have played key roles in the community’s development through arts and
culture (30 min)
*Group discussion to explore opportunities and strategies to utilize arts in neighborhood improvement (45 min)
|Come enjoy a night of painting with the Painting Party Gals at Legacy Golf Course, sponsored by
the Granite City Park District. Purchase a canvas or wood painting and personalize it to your liking.
