Decorative Antique Chair Auction Fundraiser and Award Reception The Six Mile Regional Library District will be hosting a Decorative Antique Chair Auction Fundraiser on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at our downtown library, located at 2001 Delmar Avenue, Granite City, IL. All chairs auctioned were original to the downtown library when it was completed in 1929. Local artists and businesses have decorated a number of the chairs in many creative ways. Several chairs in their original condition will also be auctioned. The event will be a mix of silent and live auctions. Wine, beer, hot tea, coffee, non alcoholic punch, a signature cocktail, and an assortment of hors d'oeuvres will be served. This event is for attendees ages 21 and over. Tickets purchased in advance online (http://chairauction.bpt.me) or at one of our locations (2001 Delmar Avenue or 2145 Johnson Road) are $20.00 each. Tickets purchased at the door the day of the chair auction are $25.00. All money raised will greatly help the Six Mile Regional Library District, which serves the areas of Granite City, Pontoon Beach, and Mitchell, Illinois. |

Merry Christmas Granite City! Here we are, at the most wonderful time of the year! And is there a lot going on in the month of December. We have a breakfast with Santa and a lunch with Santa coming up, what a way to spend some time with the kids or grandchildren. The Old Six Mile Museum will be having a Christmas Open House. Scroll below to find the date and the time. Did you know that the museum is housed in the oldest house in Granite City? Santa's Cabin, one of Granite City's long held traditions will open on December 3. Their schedule for visiting and pictures is listed below. Santa Claus will be visiting the children of Pontoon Beach this year, riding in his firetruck...so listen for the sirens when he is headed your way. There are many more activities scheduled, so please take a look and plan on having some fun before the big day arrives. Merry Christmas to all our visitors and our Discussion Board members, we appreciate you one and all. |
